Please read this before entrusting your body or being treated in any was by this doctor:

Five years ago she told me I had an Umbilical Hernia, and that I would require surgery to remove it. Prior to the operation, she telephoned me regarding some required blood work at the hospital; during the call, I explained to her that I felt reluctant about the surgery because my belly button was no long sensitive, red, or inflamed.

NOTE: My “umbilical hernia” was actually from an infected (doormat) naval ring that I got 15 years prior.
Instead of “hearing what I was saying” and asking me to revisit her clinic to confirm my “umbilical hernia status”, she convinced me that the hernia can do this and it is best to have preventative surgery before it grows to be a bigger problem. (This is NOT true by the way).

Surgery Day: She makes her incision, and discovers THERE IS NO HERNIA.
Did she acknowledge her error and close up right away?
NO.
Did she imply to the OR Staff that the patient was at fault?
YES.
(How is that even possible?)
Did she begin to scrape & scrape the area to produce “something” for biopsy?
YES.
Again, was this a hernia?
NO.
Was it possibly a small amount of scare tissue from the naval ring hole or even from birth?
YES.

Six weeks later I go to her office for a post-op visit. Did she tell me I did NOT have a hernia?
NO.
Did she ask to look at the site?
NO.
Did she even look at me?
NO. (Slight remorse, but not enough to come clean).
Did she give me my biopsy report?
NO. But, she did give me someone else’s?

I told her I wished I hadn’t had the surgery because the site felt burning every day…. Did she confess the truth then?
NO. Instead, she said the burning would go away.
But, it did not.
Not one day has ever gone by in the last 5 years that I haven’t felt pain from my unnecessary surgery.
She is arrogant and THAT, is very dangerous. I hope my posting will caution you in your dealings with this woman.
She is unethical and by no means, does she deserve your trust. Please be careful and aware of the Licensed Manipulators.
Get 2 opinions. Get Three!!

She is amazing Dr but her office hard to connect.
Have a follow up with the Dr office never answer.
And office lady not nice at all rude person.
But Dr kapala is sweet and kind person.

I had seen another surgeon prior to ,meeting Dr. Kapala. He was disrespectful and complained I was too old and too heavy for successful surgery. I decided he would not be suitable. Meeting Dr. Kapala was a breath of fresh air. She was honest, positive and helpful. She explained the procedure on a pad of paper and had answers to all of the concerns I had. My surgery was 8 days ago and while it has been a slow recovery, I took off the bandages today and it is all worth it. I will see her in a few weeks and thank her for making things right again and for the silliest joke in the OR ever. Her entire team was friendly and accommodating and made surgery as relaxed as possible. It’s funny. I knew from the moment we met that she was the one to do my surgery and as a result, there was no stress prior to my procedure.

Dr. Kapala performed my mastectomy in April'2022. From the time that I first met her in March, I knew she was a special person. She is an amazing, knowledgeable surgeon and she walked me through the very scary process of having a breast cancer diagnosis and making a decision about how I should proceed. She also introduced me to a wonderful plastic surgeon who was present at the April surgery and began the reconstruction process once Dr. Kapala completed the mastectomy. Dr. Kapala's assistant Jasmeena is a wonderful human being who is very organized and helpful and treats people with a great deal of compassion and respect. They make a great team. I recently had my follow up appointment with Dr. Kapala. Everything is fine and I am now scheduled to see her again in 6 months. I have a great deal of trust in her abilities and it made everything so much easier to deal with. Thank-you Dr. Kapala

Dr MK is the most compassionate medical practitioner I have ever encountered. She is kind, caring and truly has her patients best interest at heart. She will always be truthful regarding your health and the options you have moving forward. Specializing in Breasts Ca is not an easy thing, but if you're lucky enough to have her treat you, well then...you will have a much greater shot at beating it!! MK is simply an amazing human and phenomenal practitioner!! :) P.S... and she can always make you laugh ;)
