I've known Dr. Hankins for years. Twice when I was near hysterical with fears and despondency, he has shut the doors to the examining room and talked to me like both a doctor and friend to calm my anxieties. He listens, answers my questions and has even taken the time to draw me a picture of the stage of my cancer. I've never found him to be any other way than concerned, kind and caring. He is a gentleman in every way, and I highly respect him.

Only if you want a doctor who has the absolute worst bedside manner will you see this man. Very condescending attitude, have personally witnessed inexcusable rudeness by him to his staff in dispensing discipline in front of patients. When armed with questions, we more often than not leave without answers. Even making an appointment to discuss our family member's situation (and yes, he has approval via HIPAA to do so), he does not even have the courtesy to come in the room, rather stood in an open doorway to dismiss all of our concerns. Office is way too small to comfortably accomodate patients, and you will wait, wait, wait, no matter what time your appointment is. Never know what kind of mood staff will be in -- can be very friendly or very unfriendly. With cancer, it's a time to have someone who is both knowledgeable and compassionate, and compassion will not be part of the services you receive from this man.
