Dr Elias was my doctor for over 10 years and after I moved to Toronto I continued to see her because finding a family doctor is not easy. I recently had a baby and would come out to Oshawa to see her, she advised me to be taken out of her patient profile so that I could find a GP near me because being a new mom the commute was really far but she assured me that she would continue to see me if I ever needed to. I trusted her, otherwise I would have NEVER agreed to be without a family doctor, and when I needed to make an appointment shortly after her staff informed me that because I was no longer a registered patient Dr.Elias would not see me. Doctor Elias also refused to call me back. I am beyond disappointed that she would put me in this kind of position. I have been commuting to and from Oshawa for the last 4 years to see her and so I fully expected her to honour her word when she said she would still see me. I also believe that she took advantage of me in my postpartum condition and I have my husband who can attest to this as he was with me when she spoke to me. I am now without a family doctor and it is all her fault. Her lack of loyalty to her patients and clear lack of care bring to question how she is still practicing in an ethical manner.

Dr is kind. Effective. Gives referrals when needed. Receptionist is the worst one she’s ever had. Tell her you can’t hear her. Her voice is far from the mic and she doesn’t adjust. She is not willing to fax paper work. Wants the patients to do the work for her. But the dr is great if you can deal with her receptionist.

She knows her stuff and is polite, never had any issues with my care. It can be a while to get an appointment but if it's urgent she'll usually fit you in. Only major downfall is usually waiting long past my appointment as she's always way behind schedule... usually take the entire afternoon off for a 15 minute appointment.

This is in response to all of the complaints on here about her clinic being closed. I received a call for a reschedule and was told she had a death in the family. I was quickly re-scheduled. To expect her to remain open no matter what is ridiculous.

Whenever I’ve had an emergency, she has fit me in at the last minute between other patients or after hours and spends more time with me than any GP or specialist has to address every single concern.

I had this doctor for a year or so. She put me on high blood pressure meds only to take me off of them a short time later I ended up having a massive stroke and I’m not really sure if this could have been prevented had my medication been left alone. I don’t think she really cared too much about my health from the get go. She told my partner at the time that she lost her sight in one eye due so a sinus infection. There was no sinus infection. We later found out her optic nerve was inflamed. Which was a flare up of MS which we later found out by going to TGH. This doctor is a joke and would not recommend anyone to see her.

Every time I have an appt I’m waiting at least an hour. My time is important just like hers. She is cold, csn never break a smile. If I could find another female doctor for my family I would, it’s difficult. I have gone to a clinic many times when I hear the next available appointment is 2 weeks or more. Crazy. If she can’t keep up with her patients she should do something about it. It’s greed. My appt today 1:30 and I’m still sitting here at 2:50 my time is just as valuable as hers. Very frustrating

This doctor should not be a doctor at alI. I thinks she has a big problem! She never seems to be listening or paying much attention to my health concerns or even care. I would avoid recommending her as any family doctor to anyone. I am a senior citizen who on Oct.26/2022 had three stints put into my heart by my heart specialist a very great doctor he is (Dr vijay). Very kind Doctor one who is very concern about his patient's well being. After my operation at centenary hospital i was given some documents to take to my family doctor (elias). I tried to get hold of her to setup an appointment to no avail. i was contacted by dr elias on Tuesday Dec. 10th 2022 by phone with this and I quote " As of today, I no longer be you family doctor because i am a community doctor and since you are no longer in the community I can't see you, you should go to a walk-in clinic". I found this to be very sudden, cold, non caring and rude at best. At least if that is the case??????? which I don't think it is the truth ? Is this anyway to treat a patient who has just come out hospital with three newly planted stints in his heart. You mean I can't have a follow up after surgery with my so call family Doc. because i moved out of the community about 10 months ago? my land lady wanted her place so she can charge more rent and in the winter of last year. I had no choice . I had to find a place to live. I am going tobe 70yrs in a couple of months. I my not be around much longer and my advice to anyone looking for a family doctor please NOT dr elias . I haven't gone to a walk-in clinic as yet but I am absolutely sure I would be care for much better than dr elias. The cold treatment she gives out is not the way.

If there’s one thing she does, it’s listen. I’ve never been to a doctor compassionate enough to let me cry for an hour in her office during what should have been a 10 minute appointment. This is why she is not the most “punctual” and that is fine with me.

Other reviews exaggerate the wait times and call back times. The only two times I have ever not received a call back quickly, I called in and the receptionist informed me the doctor was away. When I asked why, I was told it was due to a death in the family both times. Seems some patients do not ask or care and just assume she has closed the clinic just because.
