I can not thank Dr Chau enough for his surgical and clinical expertise. I had, after much of my own research, requested a referral to this man knowing he had a medical interest in my condition. Best decision I have ever made. If anyone out there is looking for a surgeon who specializes in complex issues of the ear (in my case-cholesteatomas), do yourself a favor and see this Dr. You will not be sorry. His assistant Nikola is extremely efficient, knowledgeable and very kind.

Baffled by the negative comments as well, but then again I guess you can't please everyone. Dr. Chau was excellent! Coming from another province to have the stapedectomy surgery added to the anticipation; however, I was very confident that all would go well as Dr. Chau explained everything in terms I understood and was very patient with my questions at the initial appointment and prior to the operating room. He's very kind, courteous, and thorough. I'd recommend him in a heartbeat (and have)!!!

Dr. Chau is exceptional. I have 100% confidence in him. I’ve been seeing him for several years. He is incredibly intelligent, helpful and always a pleasure to visit. 100% recommend. Ignore bad reviews. Anyone who has had a bad experience with him is likely opinionated themselves.

I am baffled by the negative reviews, as I found Dr. Chau to be very kind, knowledgeable and thorough with his consult and explanation. I only met with him for a consultation, as I decided the recovery time and risks of surgery are not something I am willing to deal with at this time, but when it comes time that I finally decide to get my tonsils removed, I will certainly see him again.

Terrible doctor! Avoid at all costs! Told me to my face I had Meniere's Disease then wrote my doctor and told him I didn't. Took 8 months to see him initially only to have all this time wasted. I now have permanent hearing damage from his lack of interest. He also took less time with me going over my symptoms than it takes going through a drive through McDonalds. If your hearing matters to you, DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR EVER!

After years of putting off a surgery, I knew I could trust Dr. Chau. He took the time to address my worries and explain how he would do the procedure in a less invasive way than a precious ENT had suggested. He did a great job, the surgery results were better than expected with no complications. Post-op care and follow up appointments were also efficient and attentive.

Outstanding surgeon! Very respectful, kind and professional bedside manner. Corrected my otosclerosis through laser stapedotomy. His nurse was very responsive, kind , informative and helpful prior to surgery and with our call in post-op questions.
