He has no bed-side manner. I has reinjured my hand. He told me to continue my hand exercises yet also wanted me to keep wearing my hand brace. Two opposing pieces of advice. He seemed like he was walking in a trance. I will try to avoid him in future.

I had severe arthritis in my right hip and had my operation on Dec. 12, 2023. The arrangements by Dr. Elashaal's staff was excellent, the pre-op was thorough and the operation went really smoothly. Although he isn't the most friendly guy, I'd rather have a good surgeon operate on me than a friendly guy that doesn't know what he is doing. Exactly 3 months after my surgery, I slipped at Adventure Bay and to my horror I fell on my replaced hip. I was a bit sore for a day or 2 but the new hip handled the fall and I have been out hiking, golfing and cycling ever since. If I ever need the other hip done I will definitely call Dr. Elashaal.

Competent - but VERY ODD! Never says "good morning/afternoon". Socially inept. My read: woman issues. Avoid him.

This Dr is a real piece of work horrible bedside manner. My mother had surgery by him recently and I'm not impressed. I sat in that OR waiting room for 4 hrs beyond her surgery and He didn't inform me of her condition at all, not even a nurse came out to give me any info, I had to go to the surgical desk to see what the hell was going on. I'm not saying he's not a good surgeon but what a terrible bedside manner. Take a bloody 2 minutes to inform the family of their condition. If I ever need an orthopedic surgeon I will refuse to go to him period! They all act like they're Gods and they're not all they know how to do is CUT!!!

I’ve seen him at the fracture clinic 5 times since February 1st for a broken arm. This man barely spoke to me each time, I got more info from the staff! He has no personality and no bedside manner. Long story short I had surgery June 20th, saw him the other day for the final time…. assistant took out my stitches, doctor looked and said looks good then walked away to the next patient. I just called my family Doc for an emergency appointment for today. My hand is in so much pain, I can barely move it. I’m so done with this quack. Awful experience !!!!

I attended the fracture clinic at Met to see this guy. Personality of a rock. Didn't even LOOK at my busted foot in 3 places, let alone examine it! Gave me a script for a walking boot which I couldn't get for 2 days, and reluctantly gave me a script for pain, to which I was allergic. My allergies were all over my chart, plus I was wearing a medic alert. Just could not give a crap about the patient. The remainder of staff I dealt with at Met were AWESOME. So I walked out of there with nothing on my broken foot and ankle, and a medication prescription that I could not use. I will now probably require a closed reduction to reset the bones, since my foot is completely crooked and out of alignment. Thanks Doc.

This is the worst doctor I’ve ever been to he didn’t even look at my x-ray and didn’t even look at my foot he just told me to buy the walking boots and when I asked him if I have to wear the boots for 6 weeks he just told me see you in six weeks with an attitude and if I didn’t ask him if I should wear it while sleeping he would’ve not explained at all

I was a 67 year old with 'bone on bone' pain in my left hip. Dr. Elashaal replaced my left hip 6 years ago. After 9 months of rehab I began skating and have been playing hockey 3 times a week for the past 6 years !!! Although the Dr. did not 'recommend' playing hockey again at my age, I just could not STOP playing the game I love. Now, playing at age 74 and THANKING this doctor EVERY time I skate !!! My left hip is the BEST joint in my OLD body thanks to hip replacement. LOL

I had surgery to repair a fracture of my tibia caused by a car accident. Every day since this surgery, my foot has been swollen and purple and a lump has formed on the bottom. It is very painful and is getting worse instead of better. At my 3rd follow up appointment post surgery, Dr Elashaal confirmed with a smile that the bone has healed but is still completely dismissive about my foot. He has never examined it, and barely glances at it. At each appointment he stands at the end of the bed and mumbles a curt assessment of the incision site, with absolutely no concern about my purple swollen foot. Each time I bring it to his attention he shrugs and says it should get better with time. He is arrogant and leaves without answering questions or suggesting what my treatment plan should be going forward. I know that he is a bone doctor not a soft tissue doctor but my foot problem is a direct consequence of the surgery that he performed. I told him that I am going to go for an ultrasound because I am worried about my circulation and the fact that the bump is painful and growing and that my physiotherapist is concerned as well. He just smirked and said "Okay, it's your foot... Come back and see me when you get your results." Why should I do that? He may be good at putting bones back together but
HE IS A HORRIBLE DOCTOR.
Zero for bedside manner, zero for communication, zero for professionalism
If you are on this site, please go back and read his other reviews. Unfortunately my experience is not unique.

I went to see Dr. Elasaal for shoulder pain. I asked for him personally because he fixed my left shoulder. Everything turned out great and I've never had any recurring pain. Now he is going to do surgery on my right shoulder. I have complete faith in his abilities. He is a great surgeon.
