Dr. James Watterson has been my doctor since the early 2000's. I have been dealing with kidneys all my life and I couldn't ask for a better doctor. Always take the time to explain the procedures to me. I also like to thank his admin assistant Chantale. They are a great team. Highly recommend

I had my follow up appointment last week I once again can not thank Dr. Watterson enough for everything he does for me. I am grateful to him for his continue support of my kidney issue with his respect, knowledge, compassion and kindness and understanding. I am happy again this year things do not look to bad the small kidney stone from last year did not grow. I will be doing a CT scan again next Oct with possible maintenance of the small kidney stones. I saw some comment on here that makes me feel I have to said The Ottawa Hospital is a teaching hospital so do not be surprise if you might have a resident student show up. I have been Dr. Watterson patient since 2013 my experience with the resident students is they treat you with respect and they always go talk things over with Dr. Watterson. They ask you a question over and over again it is probably they want to make sure they are understanding your issue beside I rather the ask me questions over and over than a mistake being made. The resident program is for 5 years so if they are in the first couple of years they are trying to gain some confidence as they are learning and probable nervous. Many of his resident students is from other countries who want to learn from the best. I had many resident students from Canada and international who I can not thank enough for what they did for me like the team I had in 2017. If you do not understand something Dr. Watterson is always happy to explain. Dr. Watterson always try to treat and make his patients feel like family so do not be surprise if he see you reading a book he would ask you a question about it because he is trying to make you feel comfortable. I for one is happy he makes me feel like a human being who is part of the urology family and not a number in a long line of patient. I wish I could give him and his team more then 5 star.❤

Most amazing! Compassionate, dear, knowledgeable, awesome bedside manners, efficient, etc. etc. etc. A “cut above” ( no pun intended) , undoubtedly sets a beautiful , joyful mood in the urology unit as well as the OR. Godsent , a real life angel!
