Everyone at the office was very helpful. Dr. Mattar was there for us from start to finish. Took the time to explain to us all the concerns we had. Will definitely recommend.
Dr. Mattar is also excellent in circumcision and vasectomy surgery.

Read on previous reviews that Dr. Mattar has been disciplined and restricted on his practice. This makes sense to me as he treated my husband for a short while when my husband had been already treated for cancer. Told my husband he was only going to live for 3 more years. This was 8 years ago and my husband is alive and healthy. Only when my husband found another Urologist did Dr. Mattar tell him that he will live a long, long life. We found him very dismissive, uncaring and questioned every comment we made. We do not recommend him as a Urologist. How he ever got to be named as number one Urologist in Niagara Falls is questionable.

This man became a surgeon to have power over people. He is the most arrogant, rude and
unsympathetic doctor. HE LACKS EMPATHY. There are many complaints against him by patients AND nurses. I had the worst experience. Don't even bother going to see him. You deserve to be treated with respect!

Dr Mattar saved my life. Diagnosed with aggressive testicular cancer. Performed emergency surgery the same day after his shift was supposed to be done.

Timely follow-up, excellent referral for post-surgery treatment. Dr. Mattar is a special doctor and I highly recommend him.

Very attentive and caring urologist. Dr Mattar has been very generous with his time, extremely knowledgeable and helpful
over the years. Although, very busy, he always has made time to meet our needs and concerns. He will be sorely missed and the medical community will have a significant hole to fill.. Wishing him all the best...

Dr. Mattar was on-call during the weekend following my surgery by the head urologist at St. Catharines hospital. Dr. Mattar proceeded to dispute everything my doctor did. Instead, he was ready to just send me home even though I had a fever, was bleeding and in agonizing pain. He also suggested I would become an addict even though I was only being given Tylenol and a small dosage of pain killer. He also tried to convince me that allergies I had were non-existent and I should be sent home with an antibiotic that I was allergic to because the one I was being given (that I wasn’t allergic to) was exactly the same. My friend, who was there to witness all this confronted him over it at the nurse’s desk. When Dr. Mattar tried to repeat that I did not have a fever, the nurse next to him at the station piped in and said that I did (103 degrees F/39.4 celsius). It was also confirmed to us by two pharmacists who came later that the antibiotics he thought were exactly the same, while in the same family were completely different. Everything Dr. Mattar concluded from barely reading my charts was completely wrong. The next day, he came in for literally 45 seconds, angry and hostile insisting I didn’t have a fever and left. Had my friend not jumped in and stopped him from discharging me, I don’t know whether I would have survived. Luckily, my Doctor returned the following day and was caring, diligent and didn’t discharge me till I felt it was right for me to leave.

Dr. Mattar is terrible, rude and obviously lacks the professionalism and knowledge to do his job. The nurses even suggested we file a formal complaint and apologized for his behavior, which was not their fault. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
