Smth is a good doctor with an impossible number of patients( he took over his late partner's patients as well as his own). Donna does her best but is swamped by the workload. I don't understand how the practice is managed, but waits of an hour or more are common. More worryingly, the doctor has also had his own health issues which seem to have caused him to destress himself by withdrawing from trying to develop the best plan for patient treatment: he seems to want the patient to make choices he should suggest. Despite having been with the doctor for many years, I would move to a new GP, but the state of the Ontario system is such that doctors taking new patients are almost impossible to find in the city, so I'm stuck. To maintain a minumum better service, I can only suggest that the doctor hires a nurse practitioner to handle routine visits and prescription renewals, and keep the office open during extended vacations. Donna should get at least part time office help as well.

dr.smith has been our doctor for many years and has been very accurate with his diagnoses. recently he has lapsed and does not heed the patients concerns or relies on their judgements and feelings. donna the receptionist should have less to say and keep her personal upsets to herself.she should be more and understandinng and not comment her opinion so much. it is not needed. she is also rude and argumentative when the patient is explaining their needs.

Dr. Smith is a very kind, patient individual and you do not feel rushed when you see him. However, he is always late and it can be frustrating. Donna is volatile - I have seen her be extremely caring but also have seen her be quite rude. I would recommend Dr. Smith without hesitation but would do so with the caution of being prepared to wait (often and for long periods).

I have had Dr. Smith as my family doctor for over 20 years. He is simply the best. He is not egotistical and does not hesitate to refer patients to the top specialists. Yes, you may have to wait. But, on those days when you absolutely have to see him and Donna fits you in, others have to wait. Please don't retire D. Smith!!!!!

I'm 31, I've been treated by Dr. Smith for many years now & though I agree the office is definitely outdated & Donna is stressed out at times (Due to large volume of patients/calls, I've seen doctors offices with the same numbers with 2-3 receptionist) so not her fault. I have to say I've gotten nothing but good treatment from this clinic. Donna can be frantic at times but I've never found her to be unhelpful. There are many times I have called day of for something important & Donna has said just come by & I'll Squeeze you in. There are times I've waited a hour when went for appointment but that is rare & 3 hours is unheard of & I don't believe. Donna has always been friendly & Dr. Smith is always cheerful & willing to spend the time to listen & treat me effectively. All & all I'd say office could use a little modernizing & extra help up front for Donna couldn't hurt, but my experience here has been good & I will continue to see Dr. Smith. Michael Baker

Have had Dr. Smith as our family doctor for many years and we trust him implicitly, he is very knowledgeable and quick to refer to a specialist if warranted. You will wait a long time but he spends the appropriate amount of time with each patient. Donna is another matter. Sometimes she is friendly and extremely helpful and at others she can be curt, bordering on rude. She often senses when she has done this but tries to smooth things over with chattiness rather than being kind enough to apologize. I recognize she has a stressful job, however, she needs to remember that patients are often under stress as well and do not deserve discourteous service.

Dr. Smith is the real thing - a family doctor who treats the whole patient. He is knowledgeable, reasonable, keeps up on his professional knowledge. He's busy, and you may have to wait, so wait and feel glad you're about to get excellent medical care. For free.

Dr Smith's patient base seems to be mostly elderly people who are in need of companionship. As a result, younger patients are not receiving the attention/care they need. Perhaps if his practice is to continue, Dr Smith should do a total re-evaluation plus hire someone to do a business plan which will enable him to be more effective.

Donna the receptionist is not able to handle the work load and appears to be emotionally unstable and can be rude when under preasure. Dr Smith is excellent.
