I've been a patient for many yeas and have had numerous issues with the staff regarding appointments and most recently prescription refills. I called to get my last refill before my appointment and the staff refused to fill it. Said I needed to move my appointment up before it could be filled. I double checked with my pharmacy and I had only filled 2 of the 3 refills so far. They denied me my mediation and I was put on speaker phone in the office while trying to explain to the receptionist that I had another refill left and I was not going to move my appointment. She was very unprofessional, I heard her talking in the background while I was explaining. Told me se would leave a message with the doctor and I asked if he could call me back same day, she said no, he has appointments. Extremely unprofessional. I am now out of medication due to their lack of competence. I will be looking for a new office immediately.

An integral part of my son’s ADHD care, Dr. Gelinas has extensive knowledge of pharmacology, the need for school and parent support, and has the uncanny ability to prescribe medication while still seeing the patient as a person first. He has never ignored a side effect or behavioral concern, and has worked diligently to tailor my child’s treatment so he can be his best self without ‘over medicating’. Parents who understand that a psychiatrist is only a small but highly necessary part of a patient’s mental health team will get the most of Dr Gelinas’ expertise; understand that parent education, behavioral interventions, and therapy are also required in addition to any psychiatric treatment!

Awful. When my daughter first started, we loved his relaxed manner and seemingly good listening skills. It turned bad when he discounted concerns I had over changes in my daughter's behavior. Turns out after a trip to the hospital and a consult with a pharmacology expert, my daughter was being severely overdosed. I realize that medication can be a crapshoot and several might need to be tried before you find one that works, but his total disregard for my concerns (which turned out to be true) was frightening and very damaging.

Horrible experience with this arrogant, rude and self important dilitante. Terrible listener and used a cookie cutter approach regardless of circumstances or individual variations. He blames others for his shortcomings nd was horribly unprofessional when questioned about his recommendations. Stay away from this nightmare.

Spent very little time evaluating, did not discuss findings with parents before sending a report to the school system, even though he said he would. Very untrustworthy!

we consider this man a part of our family. I am so sorry for the negative results of some of the patients. I buried a daughter from a horrible accident and he was seen at her grave. He has been our family's life for many years. His job is difficult and I can not imagine how he can sit and listen to peoples horrible problems all day long. He is a loving and gifted doctor with a fantastic family. He gives back to the community with talent for care and assistance as well as other philanthropic gifts.
Do not be swayed by other peoples comments, if you need help, go to him give him your time and he will give you his talent. He is a gifted man !
patient of a family of over 20 years!

This doctor needs a serious reality check. First of all I spend 120 dollars of my own money that insurance will not cover since this doctor is out of network only to listen to him gloat about how he saved some old lady's life. He stood up and went on and on about how he saved her life, as to insure himself of his credentials. Why on earth he's talking about another patient when he's supposed to be helping me is mind boggling and down right wrong. Not only did he waste my time but when asked to speak to other doctors that I've seen, to try and come up with a treatment plan he lied to my face. He would tell me one thing and then when he spoke to my other doctors he would say the complete opposite. He's two-faced, does not like to be challenged, and could not come up with a diagnosis to help me. If he's supposed to be the doctor, then why on earth could he not come up with a diagnosis? My advice- save your 120 bucks and avoid this quack pot at all costs.

Dr. G. is kind and up to date. He is a gifted psychiatrist. He has an excellent reputation in the community among patients, therapist, and doctors. Ask someone who he or she would bring a hurting family member to, and Dr. gelinas's name will lead the list. He is a dedicated and talented doctor. Glad we have him in our life.
