I am a doctor with over 18 years experience. I'm very particular when it comes to my own treatment and only look for the best when it comes to my family and myself. Dr. Deschner is hands-down one of the best medical doctors i have seen in his field. His demeanor and bed-side manner is calm, positive, thorough, attentive, flexible, and personal. Dr. Deschner asks me questions about my recreational life and discussed life phase events and made recommendations as to what I need. He has personalized service and goes out of his way to “problem solve” using all of his contacts and knowledge to offer multiple solutions. I find physicians like myself are usually distracted or rushed when visiting patients, but not with Dr. Deschner. I had the sense he REALLY cared about my whole being and not just the fact that I needed specialized treatments. Additionally, I could tell Dr. Deschner has a very well-rounded medical background and not the typical medical “fix it and get rid of it” approach. His staff is very friendly and welcoming, and he has a wide group of professionals he treats. I've met military personal, mechanics, teachers, carpenters, and law enforcement. I definitely recommend his practice to anyone that values their health and wants a doctor that’s holistic, empowering, and works for his patients.
Since he is a one doctor practice, he is able to manage his time in such a way it gives himself time to think and focus on me as his patient. (actually cares about my well-being, and takes the time to explain his rationalization and thinking...not hurried review of my file and scampers from his previous patient in the next room, and therefore no rush out the door to his next patient) This is something I struggle with in my practice. This is really nice, and he truly cares about me as a patient and as an individual.
Dr. Deschner is a higher standard of specialized health care, and I hope his model of treatment and overwatch is the future of his medical speciality!

I was a patient from his previous affiliation with MCV which called with reminders for your appointment. I had missed a previous appt. in the new clinic and was lucky enough to get rescheduled and was told there was no time for phone calls (maybe hire someone?) Anyhow I missed another one - had thought my appt was on a certain date (because it was discussed with the receptionist) so imagine my surprise when I called to see just what time it was scheduled for and was told oops - that was last week and we have NO appts. for 10 days. Did they offer to give me anything at all to either help with the pain or the DETOX that I would have to endure - HE** no. I am so disappointed in this situation. I did not ask to be put on ANY of these meds that I have taken and NEVER abused for OVER TEN YEARS. So, how much fun do you think I have had for the last several days - skin crawlies, the 'runs', not able to sleep more than 15 mins. at a time, just to name a few. I just called and cancelled my appointment - I say if I can detox and live with the pain, it is MUCH better than being treated like a second class citizen which when you think about it is at the DR.'s hand, after all, tho I like Dr. Deschner I was not on the amount of meds (especially the MORPHINE) that was prescribed before I started seeing him. THANK GOD I have a GP that listens and understands. He didn't really want to give me anything because he was afraid that my PAIN mgt dr. would be upset....I said a few choice words one beginning with F and them following and also said well, they don't seem to care about how I'm supposed get thru these next days and by then, shouldn't I be detoxed...he told me that I had a point and gave me something to help overcome what has been one of the worst weeks of my life - oh yeah and I loved spending my BIRTHDAY in withdrawls. I think I would almost rather endure the car wreck and subsequent couple of months in bed (which got me in this situation) than what I had to endure this past 'week'. If you are not already dependent on pain meds I WILL BEG YOU NOW - don't do it. It's NOT worth it!

By far the best pain management dr around. They worked me in due to my other dr closing their office so the wait was a tad longer than normal. Very nice staff and dr was very kind and knowledgeable.

My husband is a chronic pain patient. His doctor retired (Dr Decker) and we were given detox prescriptions and a "find another doctor" instruction. My husband is a retired professional. He is not a drug addict. He cannot "detox" off medicine needed for pain. He has chronic pain. We went to see Dr Deschner. We were treated like criminals. My husband had to be interviewed by a policeman and asked personal questions that made him uncomfortable. When he finally got to see the doctor - we were basically told that we were not to expect anything other than prescriptions. That he would NOT call for pre-authorizations. That he didn't have time for that kind of thing. We were given a prescription and then had a problem as the instructions for it were different. We tried three and four times a day for a week to reach his office. It goes to voice mail and no one ever calls you back. When we talked to the lady she was sarcastic and said she didn't have time to return all the calls and that we just had to work out our own issues. They didn't have time for it. Just because my husband has to take medication for chronic pain doesn't mean he has to be treated like less than a human.

After paying $275.00 cash up front, and prior to coming in I made sure that my severe disease would be treated due to chronic pain and was assured that it would be even after filling out all the paper work and bringing in years of medical records. This no good Dr. comes into my room angry and lectured me that he will not treat my abdominal pain due to an outdated article from Cleveland clinic back in 2013 which is not the updated info on treating chronic pain in my disease .Denied having a website treating abdominal pain ,so did staff which is clearly stated on the website. Made rude remarks about my GI MD,Left crying and out $275.No compassion .Negative reviews are true,I am reporting him to medical board The BBB please do your research before going to this MD,FALSE REPRESENTATION! He is a THEIF!!! and a LIAR!! MY Gastorintestional doctor is furious and said he does not know what he is talking about. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS DOCTOR( Dr. STEVEN DESCHNER!!!!!!!
