Great experience, I think he sees the worst of the worst. Practical, no bull. I have gone to many docs before Dr M. Very knowledgeable with treatments and worked with me (headache problem). Drug addicts go somewhere else. Hospital a little scary but clinic like a nice hotel

Dr. Mcgeeney is horrible. He isn't thorough or even close. When i go to see him he chats very briefly and never does a physical exam of any kind. He's insensitive, unprofessional, he doesnt return calls or emails, its takes a week for him to sign off on a script, he doesnt do what he says he will, he isn't a good dr. at all. I wonder why he's still allowed to practice medicine, all Ive heard are negative things about him and they're all true, and THEN some!

He basically saved my life. I was at the end or my rope with no help in sight after over a decade of KIP 9-10 Cluster Headaches. I have been pain free for over 3 years and would have been 7 if I had followed all of his instructions. NO ONE is better in the Cluster Headache field.

I went to Dr. McGeeney because my life long mograones were so debilitating that I had to leave nursing school because I literally blacked out and lost consciousness from the unbearable pain. He seemed great at first. He did rush me through my appointment but I pushed it off understanding that he is a busy doctor. I was on 2 preventatives for 4 months. I lost weight, my migraines were less intense and they went from 7-10/week to about 3/month. After the 3rd month began and into the 4th, I started to get migraines again and also, I became extremely depressed and even impulsively suicidal. Also during that time, I had switched health insurance and he did not accept it. I knew I HAD to get off those meds ASAP because my life was at steak. I called his office, balling my eyes out that my PCP would not wean me off the meds and he didn't return my call for 2 days. When he did, I explained that I was extremely impulsively suicidal and begged him to titrate the medication down until it was safe to come off. I told him about the insurance and asked if he would direct me over the phone. He said no, I needed to come in. I explained again that I needed to see him but my insurance would not allow it. He blatantly told me verbatim: "this is about business, not medicine." We got off the phone and my heart sunk. Being in the medical field myself and completing most of nusring school, left me flabbergasted because I could not fathom how someone, especially an M.D could be so cold hearted and dismissive and so unempathetic to the extent that not only did hw choose money over an illness....but my life.

Dr. McGeeney's treatment of my cluster headaches, and his close monitoring of my medications, has been spectacular. He checked in regularly during my 14-day course of medications, and has continued to check in, and see me in his office, since then. He also helped argue with my insurance company to get me the proper medications after Blue Cross initially denied them. The side-effects of my medications were exactly as Dr. McGeeney had described, were mild to minimal, and were certainly worth it when my 8-week period of cluster headaches was aborted after one week! Thank you, Dr. McGeeney!

I will be looking for a new neurologist. Usually, I deal with the NP who I Love and only get a minute with him. Today, i had him for the whole visit. The pain meds have not been helping and the side effects are horrendous. He told me there are no side effects for the meds he prescribed. Okay well I'm just letting you know how they make me feel when I take them! He was dismissive and unprofessional. Incredibly insensitive. I was two seconds away from just walking out. Never again.

Dr. McGeeny did not take good care of my son. Visits were abbreviated, he only had one approach and blamed my son when it didn't work. Protocols for hospital treatment were not followed completely and he almost never returned phone calls. We found another neurologist and things are much better.

I was referred to him by my primary doc for pain management. He thought I was being terminated from her care re: medication and was drug-seeking.That was not the case, but his bias developed early in the then visit got in the way of getting any helpful info. Amazingly, on a second referral to the same hospital for a different neuro issue a more than a year later, I got him again. This was to discuss my new symptoms and incontinence but again he thought I was there for drugs so we never got to discussing my condition. I am unsure why he drew that conclusion since I am clearly getting pain meds from my primary, strong pain meds and it is right there in my chart. If anyone reading this is a chronic pain patient they have likely had the experience before of being stigmatized by a health care provider, and know that it is never easy.
