Honestly, I can't believe the level of quality and service of Dr. Rioux and his assistant Anita. I have dealt with A LOT of doctors in my lifetime: from the despondent to the rude, from the personable to the thorough. When I first entered the practice of Dr. Rioux, I was skeptical that I was going to be put into another inattentive, inaccessible, and 'quickest solution, regardless of consequences' form of treatment.

Yet, through numerous years now, I have never once met a team like Kevin and Anita that is so attentive, informative, and caring in their work. Every single time that I have ever asked for anything out of the ordinary, they have helped me out. Every issue I've ever had has been dealt with incredible professionalism, with detailed explanations, earnest care for the options put in front of me, and a clear and common goal of advancing effective treatment for the patient, as a real person suffering from a disease.

I honestly didn't know that there could be a combination of quality and care in a doctor. And, seriously, Anita RE-WRITES what a receptionist should be. Honestly, I am blown away by some of my interactions with her.

Combined, I 100% recommend Dr. Rioux as a doctor. I would seriously be willing to write an application package for this team to win customer service awards if I could. Instead I come here to say that if you have had issues in the past with your gastro doctors, you NEED to work with Dr. Rioux. I'm met a lot of exceptional people in my life, and this Doctor is one of the finest.

My ONLY (perhaps unrealistic) fear is that this guy is going to be scooped up by a big university or higher paying practice elsewhere to teach or do research and I'll lose him as a doctor. He's THAT good.

Dr. Rioux was my husband's doctor from 2007 to 2016 when he moved to BC. We sere very sad to see him leaving Calgary! He is an awesome doctor, we really missed him!!! I recommend Dr. Rioux to everyone that has GI issues. My husband got a very rare disease, called Cronkhite-Canada Syndrome, and Dr. Rioux took very good care of my husband.

Dr. Rioux is an excellent gastrologist. I find him very personable, calm, methodical and knowledgeable. He is a very bright doctor who explains things exceptionally well. I regularly leave his office feeling informed, clearly understanding his recommendations and satisfied that he heard my concerns. I also find Dr. Rioux willing to explore different medical options and he recognizes that each patient has individuals needs. I find him respectful and empathetic and I have never experienced any arrogance or condescending behaviour ever. I question those who have. Dr. Rioux's MOA Anita is exceptionally prompt and professional. She knows her job very well and I find her very pleasant. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Rioux. He is an excellent gastrologist.

I have been a patient of Dr Rioux's since summer 2017, and have had a fantastic experience with him and his MOA Anita. They are my absolute favourites and both of them were great supports to me as I went through my most recent flare-up of Crohn's. I truly don't understand some of the earlier negative reviews as I can't imagine Dr Rioux being condescending or arrogant at all- in all my interactions with him, he has been compassionate, thorough, resourceful, and all around awesome. You are in good hands with him!

I recently took my elderly Mother to see Dr. Rioux in July and again in late September. We found him to be a very caring, thorough individual. He took the time to explain his findings and recommendations clearly to my Mom. Although not all good news , his positive attitude went a long way in putting my Mother at ease.

Dr Rioux and his staff; Amber, Vanessa(?), Sarah(?) etc. were so kind, patient and compassionate. I went in for my first colonoscopy, or treatment of any kind in hospital, and they made me feel so at ease. How do they do it, treating each patient with so much care?! Thank you very much for squeezing me into your busy schedule!

Is Dr. Kevin Rioux a specialized gastroenterologist or a MD with an interest in Gastro? I found him to be very arrogant and only interested in research.

I just finished seeing Dr. Kevin Rioux in Victoria, BC. Dr. Rioux just moved to the island from Alberta in 2016. He is a supportive and kindhearted doctor. After the first visit, I feel very assured that I have a kind, patient, competent and knowledgeable GI dr. Thanks to dr. Holland for referring Dr, Rioux. I can see Dr. Rioux is passionate about what he is doing. The way he communicated with me is clear and to the point. His assistant Anita is amazing, too. She's warm, patient, and professional. I'm feeling very lucky. Two thumbs up!! :)
