Dr. Thacker is one of the best physicians I have ever dealt with. I have a skin condition that was completely turned aside by my regular family physician until Dr. Thacker took the time to look at me. He made the proper referral for me and recognized the seriousness of my condition before it resulted in something more serious. He is an intelligent doctor who I happily recommend to anyone. Dr. Thacker has been my family doctor for myself and my partner since January 2013. He is a incredible physician both at the clinic and socially in public. I have never typically been a sick individual but 2013 did me in. Back problems, knee problem, and a cancer scare (it wasn't cancer thank GOD), but Ken referred me to 2 specialists and I ended up needing back and knee surgery. He is very careful and closely monitors any pain pills he prescribes and isn't afraid to let you know about. To me...that shows he truly cares for my wellbeing in not getting me addicted and to not rely on them just to make it through life. He has become a very good friend to both of us to the point we go watch him and his band (The Knackers). He is BAR-NONE hands down ONE OF A KIND! Keep up the good work Ken because if it wasn't for you being my doctor I'm sure I wouldn't have had and surgeries I needed, in turn I wouldn't be able to walk. :)

Dr. Thacker is my general practitioner and I am very happy with him. He is knowledgeable and thorough. He sends me for tests when I need them and if I turn up with minor complaints, he is kind, funny and helpful with advice. I am surprised at so many negative comments. Any physician at the clinic has a daunting schedule and dealing with that number of people would be way too much for most of us. I have always found him to be professional and always helpful.

I have been treated by Dr. Ken Thacker on several occasions. He is kind, personable and professional. I am not sure why there are so many negative comments and disappointed to read them. Perhaps people need to realize that there are extreme wait times in Thunder Bay to see a doctor and in addition, doctors are entitled to choose which patients they serve. Before making negative comments, it may be necessary to research health care in Ontario and all across Canada before making a general opinion, that may not be necessarily accurate. I am certainly not choosy in terms of who is able to care for me as doctors are limited in Thunder Bay and very busy. I simply remember to be grateful that someone can care for me. I am very pleased with Dr.Ken Thacker and he is by no means odd, in fact, it is odd, that people think so. Careful with your words, these is a profession here that we are speaking about.

i feel completely unlucky getting him as my GP hes at minimum 1 hour late to every appointment I've ever made hes forgotten about an appointment making me wait 4 hours total (waiting room and office) till i just upped and left everyone was gone by that point so i had no one to talk to he rushes u out as soon as he can before u can talk to him about other problems your having to be honest i think i would actually be better off still on the waiting list hes given me more problems to deal w/ in my life loads of stress among other things if u have the choice stay on the waiting list and far away from him

Incredibly personable, very knowledgeable with respect to his profession. Met first time for initial patient consultation...discussed his experience as well as his assessment of my medical profile. Overall, felt very comfortable with his competence and manner. Finally, a doctor with superior people skills to match his medical expertise. Feel very fortunate to be selected as his patient.

I had the worse experience with this physician today and have not even met the man. My three young children and myself have been on the Health Care Connect wait list for approx 1.5 years. I was excited to get a call last week that Dr. Thacker was accepting new patients. I quickly went to the clinic and filled out 4 applications for myself and the three kids. A few days later I was excited again when I got a message that Dr. Thacker wanted to have a met and greet with my three kids. There was no mention of me in the message. Next morning I called Dr Thacker's office. When I asked why there was no indication that Dr. Thacker wanted to have a met and greet with me ? Her answer was shocking. Dr Thacker had rejected my application because at 38 I am an insulin dep diabetic. And because my children ( who are healthy) unfortunately have a mother with a disability are also automatically rejected. Imagine my disbelief!! In one way I am glad he REJECTED us imagine having this guy for a GP?

Very unhelpful doctor. He didn't take the time to explain or even attempt to help me understand why I was experiencing the symtoms I had for coming to the emergency room. He also perscribed antibiotics and didn't even tell me why I should take them. I watched him in the busy hallways treat the other patients with much more respect. I would not allow him to treat my family or myself in the future.
