In the past I had several inguinal hernia operations both with and without mesh, but my hernia problems kept coming back. Then in February 2020, I was seen by Dr. Daran L. Austen, who applied a method called total extraperitoneal patch repair (TEP), thus finally ending my recurrent hernias on both sides. There were no adhesions or any complications. After the surgery I recovered rapidly. The incisions healed very nicely; they are practically invisible now. Based on my own experience, Dr. Austen is a remarkable surgeon, who did a superior job.

Dr. Austen is an excellent doctor and surgeon. He is very skillful and experienced and kind person. He explained everything to me prior to surgery and in our first consultation appointment.

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and got referred to Dr. Austen. After consulting with him he performed my surgery. I found him to be very professional and emphatic with my situation. He understood my fears and concerns and answered all my questions. He is wonderful at explaining and discussing what the future steps were for my situation. Going through the process with Dr. Austen and his team was a very relaxing experience.

Dr. Austen is a skillful ,kind,caring, and compassionate doctor. He took the time to explain everything about my breast cancer diagnosis and surgery. He is sensitive and caring. His surgical skills are exceptional. My scars are barely recognizable and my surgery was not that long ago. He is a credit to the medical profession. I would highly recommend him .
