Dr Sagar has been my oncologist for many years. He always had an exceptional team— nurse was Debbie when I first attended. In the last year he has been exceptionally supportive. But it is different nurse each time and the communication from the cancer centre now is totally unreliable. I believe their system has totally changed. Dr Sagar was rushing from room to room. He personally phones me with results. Apparently, I learned he does not have any control over the new nursing and computer system. He obviously tries his best but looks very stressed. I highly recommend him — he has such a good bedside manner and is very conscientious—and hope the system will improve. My last appointment was inexplicably canceled because he is off long term.

Dr Sagar is a warm intelligent doctor. He inspires confidence. The technologists are incredible, professional but friendly. Unfortunately, the nursing system has changed so you get a different one each time and communication through the nurses is confusing. There is no point nurse for you anymore. I think this is beyond the control of Dr Sagar, but is a system change at the Juravinski Cancer Centre.

Very professional. Explained my treatment well and clearly.
Very kind, understanding and treated me as an equal. Rapidly organized my radiotherapy. Technologists are also excellent. Everyone so helpful and reassuring. Also allowed telephone support when I enquired. Such a wonderful doctor.

I recently completed treatment for tonsil cancer under Dr Sagar and Dr Hotte. Both are very knowledgeable and caring doctors who work together as a professional team.
They gave of their time to answer questions and were there for me when I developed symptoms. I want to mention the professional and friendly radiation oncologists, psychological support, and nursing care. Also Alyssa the dietitian. They all came together as a team. Thank you Dr Sagar for your care.

Dr Sagar and his nurse, Kim work as a compassionate team.
He goes out of his way to make sure investigations and treatments are rapidly done. Dr Sagar spent time clearly and humbly explaining my cancer treatment options. I think the person who did the previous review must be talking about the wrong doctor. Dr Sagar shines with his knowledge and empathy. I be also want to praise his dietitian, Alyssa who is so professional and went out of her way for support. Thank you Dr. Sagar for your wonderful work.

Dr. Sagar is by far,the most outstanding Radiation Oncologist. Dr. Sagar's extensive knowledge base, patience, intuitive diagnostic abilities are remarkable, if not unprecedented. There are few physicians that will work as arduously and meticulously as Dr. Sagar does for his patients. He has extensive patience answering numerous questions and concerns, when faced with a challenging diagnosis. Dr. Sagar has extensive medical knowledge, which far exceed his area of speciality. He has a comprehensive understanding of the patient as a whole, and not simply just what symptoms you present with or your diagnosis. His knowledge in medicine, which exceeds that of most physicians. Dr. Sagar is a rare example of what a physician should be, substantive knowledge base, combined with incredible dedication to patient care and assisting in educating patients about their diagnosis. During my recent chemotherapy treatments, I was referred to Dr. Sagar on two occasions for radiation treatments for tumours on my spine that had not responded to the chemotherapy. The first referral was quite urgent and Dr. Sagar completed my assessment, arranged the planning session and began therapy that very day. I spoke at length about my symptoms and he listened intently then took the time to comprehensively explain what was happening to me in terms of the disease and precisely the radiation procedure that needed to be done. Not only did he describe what had been found on my CT scan, he invited me to review the actual images with him to gain a better understanding of treatment and recovery. He is extremely knowledgeable and personable; an excellent listener who takes the time to explain even the smallest of details and answer questions. He is certainly another very fine doctor at the Juravinski Hospital and I very am grateful to be under his care. Thank you for helping me.
