Dr. Marais did took did biopsies on 2 polyps in my uterus and sent them to 2 different labs. He sent me immediately to the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic when they proved cancerous and that saved my life.

In 2016 I had an ablation. Dr. Marais was patient, kind, and answered all of my questions, including follow up phone calls after my procedure. The procedure has greatly improved my quality of life. I don't need to take any pain medication due to my periods, nor do I miss any work anymore. I am so grateful to Dr. Marais and his staff.

I went in for a IUD insertion with so much fear and walked out like nothing happened. He takes the time, and is so considerate of mr feelings, even warming up the speculum before insertion to make sure I’m as comfortable as possible! I had her nurse Cindy who was also absolutely amazing. He delivered my baby by csection in 2018 and also an amazing experience. He is retiring and if you’re reading this Dr. Marais, while I’m so sad you’re retiring but also you deserve to absolutely best in this next chapter if you’re life. You served the woman’s health community so proud and you’ll be very missed. Thank you again!

I had a consult for bladder lift? Dr Marais was wonderful. He does full history and exam. He treats you like you matter and no rush. I will defiantly recommend him to others . And tell my family dr to send others to him as well.

I just had surgery on July 13th, 2020... I really can't say enough about how wonderful, thoughtful, kind, caring, professional Dr. Marais is.. I had a bladder lift and although I had troubles with the Anesthesia which is something that ALWAYS happens to me, my surgery was 100% pain free.. I spent 3 days in the hospital and no pain with my surgery. The care from Dr. Marais and his team are top notch. I highly recommend him and the staff at the Old's Hospital. They really catered to my every need, and always on top of everything. Thank You so much Dr. Marais and your team.

The best OBGYN I have ever had. He and his staff are knowledgable and caring. I love that he gave me options about my health and felt like he was giving me treatment he would give to his loved ones. Another OBGYN in Red Deer wanted to go strait to surgery for my issues and Dr. Marais gave be reasonable solutions to choose from without surgery. I am very pleased with the care I have received. Dr. Marais is arrogant, unprofessional, and dismissive. After a full abdominal hysterectomy in early 2019 I became septic after a couple days post discharge. The outdated way he sutured my abdominal incision (using enormous retention sutures) caused a micro perforation of my bowel. I asked for help, he denied anything was wrong. I am a health care professional myself, and it was both deeply disturbing and frightening that I could not get him to listen. Fast forward 9 days post-op and I was medevaced to to Calgary for surgical intervention (lost a sizable chunk of my abdomen to save my life). 55+ days in Peter Lougheed Centre under expert care of the OB/GYN service there saved my life. I might add that Dr. Marais was receiving the numerous OR notes and all test results done in Calgary. He or his office never once called to see how I was doing. Not once. Formal complaint has been laid with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Beware of this surgeon.

What an unpleasant, pushy,disrespectful man. Then has the nerve to tell my GP that I was "stubborn" when I refused his treatment. Found another gynie that was wonderful. If you like a patriarchal Dr. , this one's for you.

Fantastic Dr. Would highly recommend. Had an abdominal hysterectomy and he did an amazing job. Quick to get in to see and quick to get surgery done. All the staff at the Olds hospital are phenomenal as well. A great experience.

He is very rude, and it takes forever until he moves. It toke 4 months until he recommended an other Doctor!!!!
