Dr Cham is the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. I have severe endometriosis and he told me I had a few options.
1- change birth control (I have 4 times so that seemed pointless to me)
2- get the depo shot. “It lasts for 3 months so if it makes your symptoms worse you’re just going to have to live with it because I can’t take it out of your body”
3- another shot that puts you into a fake menopause- provided by his office for $1200 per month
4- just go get pregnant.
And finally 5- an ablation.
I am 24 years old.
the pelvic exam was painful. Those with endometriosis know exactly what I’m talking about. I was laying on the table in tears and he had the audacity to peak over the sheet and say “does it actually hurt are you just uncomfortable” and later “a lot of “pain” people experience comes from building it up in your mind that it’s going to hurt when it actually doesn’t”
He couldn’t care less about the pain you’re in and doesn’t believe it’s real. “adhesions don’t cause pain” I was taken back by this one. At this point I was so frustrated and questioned him on it again I said “you’re telling me when something that’s not supposed to be attached is now attached by these adhesions doesn’t hurt? And when you move, it pulls cause they shouldn’t be attached … and you’re telling me that doesn’t cause pain?” And he said “adhesions don’t cause pain. They don’t hurt” not sure how this man is even a doctor.
Don’t ever go see this man, especially if you have endometriosis.

I first met Dr. Cham at the ER when I had a miscarriage. He was LOVELY during what was seriously awful/scary time, as were ALL of the staff at RD Hospital. I had a follow up today, and leading up to it spoke with his receptionist on the phone and while I was there, and she is WONDERFUL. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr. Cham and his staff are and if I can say that after what I had happening you know it must be true.

I was referred to Dr. Cham by my family doctor for my first pregnancy. I has high blood pressure and was later diagnosed with gestational diabetes by him. From start to finish he was amazing. He was knowledgeable, decisive, had great bedside manner and was overall very respectful. He would listen to my concerns and kept me calm through some difficult weeks. I was mentally preparing for a big baby and c-section but he reassured me that everything will go smoothly no matter what direction and that scheduling a c-section is not recommended at the time. I'm so glad I listened and trusted him as I had a great, uncomplicated, scheduled induction at 38 weeks.

Dr. Cham is a personable, knowledgeable and overall wonderful doctor! His receptionist has a terrible attitude and is extremely rude.

Was referred to Dr. Cham by my GP. Found him to be easy to talk with and very helpful an informative. When he was unsure himself he referred me to a specialist. His quickness in seeing me and preforming all tests and then referring me made the outcome so mich better.

Dr. Cham was the on call OB at Red Deer Hospital when I came into labor with my second child. I was attempting a vbac and although never having met him before found him supportive of this. Once a decision was made to perform an emergency cesarean he said something to me that has aways bothered me and continues to when I reflect on that experience. “Labor isn’t supposed to be a party.” This was said to me as they were wheeling me off to an operating room and I’m still unsure where it came from as I didn’t provoke it any way. As a woman in labor, to hear this from a man, surgeon or otherwise was bothersome and hurtful.

This guy is not smart, I had to see him on emergency basis and he blatantly tried to lie to me and my significant other and I was able to call him on it and he simply looked at the nurse and she had agreed to what I said and he simply acted stupid when it was clearly him not realizing I knew better and thought he could lie. He doesn’t seem to know a lot apparently for a field he specializes in not to mention down right rude.

I saw Dr. Cham when I found out my son no longer had a heartbeat. He was very kind and understanding. I was referred back with my last pregnancy and was not impressed. He told me at 37 weeks pregnant he wouldn't be around to deliver the baby, and told me my gestational diabetes screen was borderline when I should have been diagnosed with it. He was so good the first time I saw him I struggle giving him a negative review, but he made the last couple weeks of my pregnancy needlessly stressful.
