I would never go back to Dr. Motala. She told me I did not need a Pap smear because I had not had sex for several years. Even nuns can get cervical cancer! She also contradicted the medical advice her husband gave me, and refused to treat me for car accident injuries. She toldl me to go home and forget about them. I went to a different doctor, had an MRI, and was diagnosed ultimately with a flattened disk in the neck. Do not go see this woman; her medical knowledge is sorely lacking.

Dr.Motala has always treated me very kindly and always is very caring and thoughtful. She always makes me feel comfortable and answers all of my questions. She also has cared for my 18 month old son and promptly referred him to a pediatrician when she thought that he would benefit from it. She still checks in on his progress because she cares, even though she no longer treats him.

she is really missing the communication skills with patients. She won't spend the time to go over results from the lab and she is very mean and doesn't assign people to specialists. her knowledge of medicine is limited to her background origin. She is discriminating against her own kind of people and like to help more of white people. and does not take male patients at all. how indiscriminating.

I have been a patient of Dr. Motala's for over 7 years. She is wonderful, and very thorough. Always takes time to ensure we have covered all of my concerns. In addition, she took very excellent care of both of my parents, going so far as to call me at home to check on them. In addition, I would like to commend Dr.Docrat on seeing my elderly Dad who Dr. M thought would prefer a gentleman doc for an examination. I have always been treated with the upmost politeness by the staff, even tho it is a busy, crazy practice. Dr. Motala is a credit to her profession

Dr. Motala was rude and unhelpful. I also found the pap smear very painful whereas with other doctors it was not. She was condescending and disrespectful. I would never recommend her to anyone. I strongly recommend suggest she take some additional training in communication.

This doctor did not spend the time and effort to go through my tests results and answer my questions. She made me feel silly for having many questions and send me to get answers for a lab that was doing an ultrasound. She did not take the time to do a thorough physical. I do not recommend her.

Well I've read the nagative reviews on this Dr. I have to agree with the remove clothes and get down to business and perhaps that could improve. But I will give a positive plug that she was actually polite to my hubby and I, she seemed very thorough, she was recommended by another highly respected Dr. in the city. I felt all issues were covered and tests covered and both my husband and I felt looked after thoroughly which we havn't felt with our other Dr. for a few years. So so far, we're very happy with her and her husband. She is a get down to business Dr. which might explain the remove clothes comment which is true, but the issue is do you feel looked after and that things would not be missed. So far, we feel that is very positive, but havn't seen her long enough to be an excellant judge of that. But we were looking for thorough, and she certainly made us feel thoroughly looked at and taken care of.

I would not recommend Motala to anyone! She was family doctor for three VERY painful years of which her bedside manner was indescribable! For my yearly she did not offer me a gown to dress into but rather had me sit unclothed for the entire appointment. She would NOT prescribe me birth control pills for two years and for the last year made me feel "dirty" for asking for it. She would blow off any of my concerns by shoving a blood test sheet in my face and telling me to leave. On one occasion I came in for a sore throat and as she neared me with a tongue depressor, I opened my mouth. She starting speaking in her native language to her intern and referred to me as "Pavlov's Dog", I found this TOTALLY unprofessional and incomprehensible! She is uncompassionate, condescending and should not be practicing medicine! To make matters worse, her staff are rude, abrupt and absolutely ridiculous and they lost my entire medical record, never to be found again. Do not go see this woman!!

Very unfriendly and abrupt. Very harsh and painful pap-smear. She gave me my first so I thought that was just what they were like and dreaded them - until I changed doctors. Called me in a few months ago but wouldn't say why over the phone. I hadn't gone to her in 2 years. When I got there she spent the appointment scolding me for not coming in to discuss the ultrasound I had two years before. I actually had, but my appointment had been with her husband, Ahmed Docrat. He told me the results showed that everything was fine. She told me the results showed gall stones and demanded to know what I was going to do about them. I told her I would be discussing them with my new family doctor and immediately had my records transferred (I know now I should have done that initially, but I was very naiive and thought that was done automatically by your new doctor. Don't know where I got THAT idea from...).

I have stop seeing Dr. Motala for all the same reasons. I felt like I was inconviencing her during MY appoinments. She is extremely abrassive, and what doctor does not give you a gown and just tells you to take your bottoms off for a physical? This city needs some doctors in a serious way!
