I have been a patient with Dr. Motala for a long time. Don't have much complaints to say, but one thing which really bugged me was, when I asked her something about travel vaccinations. She said I had to book a travel consultacy with her. No problem, but when I came to know that it will be $45.00 per person for the appointment, I was disappointed. She is my family doctor, and why do I have to pay her money just for the appointment(not the cost of any vacciantions). I know many family doctors which do travel consultations and don't charge any fee for the service. It is not a travel clinic where u have to pay for the consultation, as it is the cost for these vaccinations are quite a bit, which is not covered in Alberta health care and not by my insurance as well. Why do we have to pay for a appointment as well.

Dr Motala is an amazing doctor!!! Everything that I read below sounds like people just have nothing to do except writing bad impressions. Interesting that they still continue to have her as their doctor. I think they have to apologize for all those bad information given on this site about her. She is VERY competent and has a BIG HEART for every of her patient! I truly advise her as a family doctor for you and your kids

I don't know what everyone is complaining about, if it was painful the FIRST time you went into see Dr. Motala - news flash - get a new doctor then, don't wait for three years. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Motala AND Dr. Docrat. For physicals, i appreciate her attitude of "bottoms off, let's get down to buisness" She is a DOCTOR, she is BUSY, she doesn't have time to waste on turning on gentle music and lighting candles. She has referred me to four different specialists for four different problems, all of which, she was right about to begin with. I recommend her to EVERYONE i know.

I also have left Dr. Motala's office, and have found much better medical services, albeit in Lethbridge, not Calgary. I found that she require significant buttering up, and then she'd give you some time, but she was often out of the office, and her husband will only treat the non-sexual parts of women's bodies (I don't understand how someone can say they're a doctor if they'll only treat 90% of your body, and what generally goes wrong with women anyway?), so it was often difficult to get full treatment unless you know Motala's schedule. My daughter stayed on, but did not go to see her for a little over a year. When she called to make an appointment, they said she was no longer their patient since it had been 18 months, and they had no longer got her records! She lost her entire medical history. Not good enough.

No wonder these people are so unhappy about the service. During my physical last year, I had made an appointment in advance and I had to wait for 40 minutes. She was done with my physical for less than 5 minutes. She seemed very uninterested in answering any of my questions. I had gone to her for my acne medication for 1.5 years and she would always give me these anti-biotics and tropical creams. None of them worked. I was in India last summer and I had visited a dermatologist. He said my acne was because of hormonal imabalance and not because of teenage! He then asked me to see a gyne. Honestly, I am pretty surprised that a so called "third" world country doctor diagnozed the problem in first appointment and my acne has subsided since I started taking the medication.

dr motala is very mean and rude. i think her medical knowledge in not update and she need to learn communication skills.she doesn't spend enough time for examine patients. i am not reccommend her to any one.

OK I have read all of the negative comments regarding Dr. Motala, and all I can say is what a bunch of crap. Dr. Motala has been my doctor for the past 8 years, and I have always been given excellent care and treated with the utmost respect. I don't know what you women are complaining about as far a the gown goes and the pain you have had from physical exams, but how long do you really want to be in the doctors' office anyway. Frankly I like the fact that Dr. Motala gets right down to it when doing a physical exam. Honestly are you that uncomfortable with your body that you need to hide under a gown? I've got news for you she's a "doctor" she's not looking to pick you up she's doing her job. I recommend Dr. Motala to everyone I know and feel very privelidged to have her as my doctor.

Dr Motala is mostly behind in schedule, very rude when talking to patients, and her medical knowledge is very low. I would not recommend her to any patient. In addition, there is total loss of communication between her and her husband. She was following up with my young baby, and when I asked to get my baby circumcised, her husband asked us to book an appointment for a complete physical examination. They had my baby's file in the same clinic, but I got the feeling that he did not trust her examination.

Very friendly, very little waiting time, and I find she takes her time with me, no problems on the pap, the staff always give me a gown. She is busy but I do not feel rushed. I do recommend her to my friends.

she has been our family doctor for the past 6-7 years - and every visit to her convinces me that she is rude and unknowledgable!! i will never reccommend her to anyone. We have found our selves a new doctor- thank god!!!!
