Dr. Canavati is NOT a doctor I would recommend. I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, but I was not told what type, or if a surgery would be required. I was told that my case was not revelent. I've been dealing with blackouts, dizziness and worsening eye sight since I was 17, all without his help. Now I'm 22, and my symptoms have worsened (he said they wouldn't).

Dr. Canavati did both my back surgeries and if it wasn't for him, I would still be in pain. In my opinion, I don't think there is a better neurosurgeon out there.

Dr.Canavati saved my daughters life by putting a shunt in when she was born. I thaught that he was rude from the beginning, but I didn't care as long as he saved her life. When I would take my daughter to her his office for a checkup he was very rude and wouldn't listen to any thing I had to say. I kept telling Canavati that thier was a stuture left in her head from her surgery. I asked him time and time again to take it out he blew me off. Then when she was 4 months old I took her back for a check up. I told him that the stuture was gone and I thaught he had made it's way inside because it was now infected. He took a 2 second look at her and said no stuture was there. The next day I took her back because her head starting bleeding and he told me there was nothing wrong and if I didn't like his oppion to take her to Riley. Well we did and it was infected all right My daughter had to go thru another surgery to remove the stuture.This should of never happened.A Doctor should care& listen

Saw Dr. Canavati for post-op back pain...was referred by ortho surgeon. He never looked me in the eye, didn't examine me, and barely glanced at my records/x-rays. He was smug, rude, condiscending, and I felt very rushed. Essentially, I was told that there was nothing wrong with me, it was all in my head and that my previous surgery was done for no reason. I would NOT recommend him.

Dr. Canavati has performed my two neck surgeries and two lower back surgeries. He is a very caring physican and always has time for his patients. He fully explains the surgery procedures he will perform.
