My mother had 2 titanium screws put into her upper spine in her neck. She woke up in a lot of pain and then one morning not even a month later, woke up to her right hand paralyzed. She went in they said there was nothing they could do. The nurse saw her hand and said “you deserve to get disability with what happened” and we were confused about what she was meaning like she knew something we didn’t. My mom still can’t use her hand. Her fingers are dying now. He screwed her life up because now she can’t work. This was August of 2012.

Dr Isa is one of the best neurosurgeons i have met. He has done 4 surgeries on me. I was stupid that I went to fwo for a neck fusion and they totally messed it up. I am still in physical therapy and working on my issues. My first visit with him 20 yrs ago was funny because he did not speak English very well we had his nurse translate for us. Now Iaa is the best best neurosurgeon around. Now my husband has his 1st back fusion and he did great. My husband feels like a new man. I would like to give congratulations to the best Doc. In the world. Thank you Dr. ISA for all the procedures you have done on me and let me walk again.

I have never felt better after surgery! I was to the point my legs hurt to even walk and now I have 0 pain in my legs. The surgery site doesn’t hurt at all. The only thing that gets sore is my hips. But that is to be expected for a little bit. I would do this all over again if I had to! He was great! Amy was awesome also! The nurses are so kind on the phone when I have questions! I would totally recommend this group and Dr. To anyone!!!

I am very satisfied with Dr. cans Stu. I was referred by my chiropractor who told me my back was beyond his ability to treat. Dr. Canavati was attentive to my concerns, and explained what needed to be done. Other than an optimistic recovery time, I’m am much improved. His nurse practitioner Amy did excellent follow up. I would recommend Dr. canavati highly.

I went to Dr. Canavati's office on a recommendation of the doctor who had initially diagnosed my problem (ruptured disk between C7-T1). Dr. Canavati took the time to explain why the ruptured disk was causing all of the problems I had been experiencing, showed me the problem on the MRI images, and explained why he recommended surgery as an option. Less than a week later (thanks to his office staff dealing with my insurance) I was in surgery. Instant relief!!

Eleven days later I was back in his office to have the staples removed by an awesome nurse (whose name I have unfortunately forgot) who once again took the time to explain what exactly she was going to do before starting.

Everyone that I've dealt with at his office has been professional and friendly, and if I ever need to have another operation on my spine or neck, I would not hesitate to go back.

Dr. Canavati saved me from a life of restricted activity. I have had more back surgeries than most. Two of those surgeries were performed in Missouri. I came back to Fort Wayne to ask if Dr. Canavati could help. He was matter of fact about the problems created by the two Missouri surgeries, said he thought he could fix the issues, and then did fix the problem. He gave me a slightly optimistic recovery schedule after the surgery (off by about a year) but I have recovered and am able to work and exercise. The guy has done me right!

Dr. Canavati is an amazing surgeon. He has performed two fusions on my neck and I couldn't be happier. My first neck surgery that was done by another surgeon was a mess and he took me on and fixed what was wrong and then did my next surgeries.
He listened to my issues and didn't just look at my MRI which didn't show my neck was that bad. We knew going into the last surgery that it was a 50/50 chance things would be better.
I am doing great and I owe it to him. He is the best surgeon!

Dr Canavati is a very good doctor. He knows what he is doing. I am so happy my sister told me to go to him. On my first appointment with him he showed me my MRI and what was wrong. H e talked so I could understand him. I had my Lumbar fusion July 24. When I go back to him we are scheduling surgery for my neck. I would recommend him to anybody. He is the best.
Thank you Dr Canavati for making me better.

When I first met Dr. Canavati I was comfortable with him and felt he listened then explained why he thought surgery was needed. I agreed and he did perform the surgery. Although I am having pain in my leg four weeks after surgery that too had been explained as a possibility. His staff have been helpful and attentive and prescribed medication to help until the nerve pain subsides. At the hospital he was brief but complete. I disagree with comments about his bedside manner. I never expected us to become great friends but rather meet on a professional level.
I found some comments interesting suggesting that Dr. Canavati was merely trying to do surgery for the money only. Of course he's doing it for the money that is the motivation for all of us to work. He is a surgeon who does surgery. He does not solicit patients but rather accepts referrals from other physicians who believe he can help surgically.
Surgery has its hazards and continued pain is one of them. Also remember that surgeons are not perfect nor is surgery perfect. I would recommend him without hesitation.
