Patients might encounter situations when they would wait an hour and only about a minute or two to see him. Usually less than 10 words would be said and don't hold your breath if you want to ask questions. Very good technician but the buck stops there for some. Very interesting personality and mood swings as he could be very nice to some patients (especially seniors) but ice cold to the next one. If one hasn't come across anyone aloof person for a while, sign up to see Dr. Ross. As one of the very top doctors in the province (MSP billing), I guess he could afford to be cocky.

AWFUL BEDSIDE MANNER. Wouldn't even let me take off my coat. In and out in 5 minutes. Office if packed. Got my doctor to refer me to someone else. Would never see him again

Well perhaps I hold a bit of a record. I had a detached retina when I was 20. Dr. Glen Oliver in London Ontario, where I was in university did the scleral buckle re-attachment. I had a second detachment at age 26 in BC. Phoned Dr. Oliver...moved to Texas. Within a couple of 48 hours I had flown from the interior and Dr. Ross did my surgery. It was February 1978, just about 32 years ago. He has seen me ever since (thus the possible record). He is the living breathing definition of skill, competence and judgement. For the number of patients he sees and treats, any wait time should be respected. I hope Bill reads this!

The best Dr if you have Diabetic proliferative retinopathy or a detached retina. He saved my eyesight and looked after me for over 25 years now. Sure the waiting times are awful, but he knows what he is doing.

I agree, his bedside manner is AWFUL, he was very rude. He had me in his chair yet was bellowing out the door to/at another patient and making calls while I sat there waiting for him to poke me in the eye with a needle (which I was NOT informed was going to cost me $350 untill after the injection). I only had to wait in his very crowded waiting room for about 15 minutes. When set up to see him for a follow up at the Eye Clinic at St Pauls I waited and waited and waited and was then seen by an intern and Dr. Ross only glanced at the chart and did not even look at my eye!

It is true you have to wait with other 10-15 people in the waiting room, but it is worth. He is a very professional and very knowlegable doctor. I trust him fully. To me is very polite and remembers my name. I would not have any other person to take care of my eyes.

Had emegency retina re-attachment that had to be done twice. Dr. Ross fit me in in record time. I found his bedside manner very good, efficient use of time, and little chit-chat. I have been under his knife three times now in the space of a year, and would not hesitate to have him work on me again if needed. I have asked other doctors about him and their response was "that's who I would have operate on me." If Dr. Ross is not the best eye surgeon, he is a contender! His staff was very good with me and very efficient. If I had to wait a bit, it was worth it.

Waited almost 2 hours for my appointment. I've seen him 3 times now and it's the same story each visit. Unacceptable waiting times. And once you get in to see him he is too quick. In total, over the 3 visits, I must have seen him for no more than 5 minutes in all. I will never go back to this doctor.
