I'm not just lucky to have Dr. McFarlane as my Urologist, I am blessed to have him as my Urologist. I have been a patient of Dr. McFarlanes for probably 20 of his 21 years of practise as I suffer from chronic kidney stones. I have watched him grow into this kind, caring and amazing top Urologist that he is today. Along with him he has the best group of dedicated wonderful Medical Receptionists that you could ask for. Always when I sat in his busy waiting room I could see these lovely ladies handling the non-stop phone calls while busy making calls for hospital appointments for patients or reminders of appointments and back in the day mailing out all the info. It wasn't so easy back before covid and certainly not now to have everything just the way we want to. There is a process. Drs can only treat so many patients at a time so a couple of times I had to be let go as his patient to make room for someone who was really in need. But at any time when my kidney stones grew too big or moved and got stuck he was only a phone call away. There is also priority as to who needs treatments fast. A bladder or prostate cancer patient goes way before any of my almost one-inch stones that were just hanging out in my kidneys. The hospitals are so busy and needing ultrasounds or CAT scans might have a long wait list unless you're in a high priority situation. We as patients need to have patience. Whether your referred to Dr. McFarlane or another Urologist has to refer you to this amazing Dr. know that you're in the best hands and be thankful and grateful if Dr. McFarlane does become your Urologist. And if you're in a situation where you need help right away don't forget you can make a trip to St. Mary's Hospital Emergency and they will certainly take good care of you.

This doctor leaves patients in acute and dangerous situations and does not reply to phone calls. This is on the dr , enough people have complained . This is neglectful and unprofessional.

I love how the comments are filled with praise for the doctor and frustration with the receptionist staff - except for one from Sept '20 declaring that the receptionist is top-notch and the patients should be gotten rid of. Wondering who that could have been :-) (I'm with the majority BTW.)

It's a big no contact thing. You can not get through on the phones, so how do you make contact. I did have a phone appointment setup but not called me. Very poor communication

Horrible phone response. Lady response very cold ( if you get through). The Doctor is amazingly friendly, but he needs to clean ot his Front Office staff. RUN, don't walk away from this Doctor! Very disappointed.

The doctor never responds to patients, and those in dyer need of surgery are continuously ignored.

Dr McFarlane is amazing his receptionist on the other hand needs to find another job she is rude lies about making appointments and will argue with you on that fact I had a test done at St Mary’s hospital in Oct and am still waiting for follow up I keep leaving messages and no return phone call also had my family doctor contact them and again nothing ...... I’m 100 percent sure it’s the receptionist neglect she is awfull to deal with
