PCOS patients beware: she orders no diagnostic tests and rushes straight to generic prescription medications.

Complete disregard for any blood tests (hormones, lipids, 17-Hydroxyprogesterone, TSH, etc.) and ultrasounds to confirm poly-cystic ovaries which are all proper protocols that must be followed before an official diagnosis of PCOS to eliminate NC-CAH/Cushings/other disorders.

Her recommendation after a 10 minute lecture on how ovaries work? Birth control if not trying to get pregnant, and clomiphene to induce pregnancy.

Nice lady, but in the stone ages as far as supporting patients with PCOS.

Just had my second baby with Dr. Mitenko and she is so great I flew from the US to Canada to ensure I have my kid under her care.
As always the office team was superb and Dr. Mitenko was very punctual and thorough during appointments. She wasn't on call when I delivered but I was in great hands with Dr. Massey at St Paul's and Dr. Mitenko stopped by to check on me the following day (on her way to a scheduled c-section).
I can't thank Dr. Mitenko enough and I can't recommend her enough. She is simply very well experienced and a caring provider.

Dr. Mitenko is very compassionate, knowledgeable and, skilled. I've been seeing her for a few years now and she is persistent in finding out what the issue is, resolving it - approaching it from many angles, communicative in making sure you understand what she's doing, what the issue is and her thought process behind the options she is providing to you. She takes a holistic approach, taking into consideration other physical and mental health challenges you are contending with. I don't know how she keeps on her schedule with the amount of time she gives me. She is patient-centred and trauma-informed, which I deeply appreciate.

Fantastic Dr - Luckily, I've been her patient for many years, and her human-first approach is a rarity in the BC medical system.

She seems to care about her patients as I've learned through experiencing health issues. Dr. Mitenko is knowledgeable, patient-focused, respectful, and kind. More medical professionals should take note.

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Dr.Mitenko, but in short she saved my life. She did a Pap smear for me that led to the discovery that I should have had a hysterectomy several years prior. Had she not done this, I might not be alive to write this today and get to see my 4 beautiful children grow up. I will never be able to express my appreciation enough for what she’s done for me.

The only gynaecologist who respected my choices and did my tubal ligation without telling me I was too young to decide. I was tired of sexist misogynistic gynaecologists who think all women should be baby factories. Dr Mitenko was amazing. 15 years later and I can confirm she changed my life for the better.
