I have seen Dr. Pereles during the past few years for sport- related injuries and knee osteoarthritis. Overall I have been very satisfied with the results of his treatments /health advise. I always ranked him at the top. Unfortunately my view of him has changed dramatically after a series of misdiagnosis/blunders for an Achilles tendon rupture I suffered during the past few months. First he was not able to properly diagnose/identify that I had a rupture Achilles tendon. Fortunately this was notice by an attentive physical therapist working on my legs. I went back to Dr. Pereles who recommended a non-surgical (conservative ) treatment that included wearing a walking boot for approximately 4-6 weeks. I followed his advice and wear the boot for 5-weeks. He performed a (final) physical evaluation of my Achilles tendon (after 5 weeks of wearing the walking boot) )and indicated that I was "ready to start physical therapy". I went to the see the same physical therapist that saw me before and to my great surprise and dismay he mentioned that my Achilles tendon did not heal (it was still rupture) !. I finally went to see a competent orthopedic specialist that performed surgery on my affected Achilles tendon five days ago.
I can not understand how an orthopedic specialist like Dr. Pereles made these two careless mistakes.

Dr Pereles has been providing exceptional care for me several yrs starting with my having back problems in 2011. After one office visit and treatment prescribed including therapy, I had no more back problems. Since then, I seen him over the years for torn rotator cup that needed surgery and therapy, and now for pain in knees for which he has handled all well. I have the utmost confidence in his medical expertise and service.

Dr. Pereles was very good and worth seeing for my sports related injury and I would highly recommend him. However, the front desk person (Maria) was extremely rude, dismissive and abrupt. It's such a shame that the doctors at this office couldn't hire someone with more manners.

The staff in this office appear to be rude and inconsiderate. I tried four times in one day to get an appointment with Dr. Pareles or one of his colleagues. Each time, once the phone was answered, I was put on hold for an indefinite period of time -- either they did not say anything to me, or something rude like "Wait a second," then left me on hold indefinitely. Doctors' offices are busy, we all know that. But there is no excuse for the poor manners and disregard of other people's time. Needless to say I finally gave up.

Dr. Pereles was excellent technically and everything went as he promised with my ACL replacement surgery on my knee. That is now my GOOD knee! :) I recovered fast and know I made the right choice in surgeons for this repair. Now I am going to have him fix my torn rotator cuff!

Saw Dr. Pereles for a knee problem for the first time a couple of days ago. He was great. I loved his demeanor and personality. I really felt I could trust him. He's down to earth, very forthright and also smart and knowledgeable.
