Rude man, rude staff and uncaring attitude. Dealing with people is part of this profession. Empathy is important and totally necessary when dealing with very sick people however Dr. Tenenbaum does not know what that word means. Sorry to all who thinks his behaviour is excusable by his "intelligence" (which I found limited) I strongly disagree.

This is the one doctor I wish I had never seen. He originally gave me a dx back in 06, but failed to help me manage said dx. He chalked it up to me being overweight (he wasn't exactly a healthy weight, either!) and, even after losing all of my excess weight and doing a total lifestyle overhaul, I am still in constant pain. He didn't do anything to help me manage the pain levels. He only suggested I 'get more sleep' but refused to help me with that. As somebody that still struggles with chronic insomnia, getting 'more sleep' isn't always attainable! Thankfully, I have since found somebody with considerably more empathy, who has actually helped me with my pain issues. 8 years after dealing with this "doctor" and I'm finally seeing some progress!

Dr. Tenenbaum is an excellent specialist. My visits are to the point with any pertinent questions answered. His reviews are complete and detailed. I am pleased to say, he rarely keeps me waiting. Actual duration might be considered "abrupt", however I never feel rushed. I appreciate his attentiveness and compassion. With his care, I have less symptoms and pain while gaining more mobility.

Thank you God, my faith has been restored. Dr Tenenbaum brings his wealth of experience, knowledge and pedigree to Victoria. Mt Sinai Hospital in Toronto (my old neighbouhood) is in the hub of Canada's medical mecca. If you don't believe me, go GOOGLE and take the tour around the block. It's been ten years since moving here and ten years since I have felt confident in my Rheumatology care. Dr T is razor sharp, lightening fast, insightfully forgiving of my forgetfulness and a straight shooter. Dr Tenenbaum's long career working with the best of the best - whom I have been blessed to have been cared for by, means Victoria is profoundly fortunate to have him. He is one of them! Given my complex medical story, I am so relieved he is my doctor. Grateful he is taking me on as his patient. And optimistic.

Dr Tenenbaum was incredibly helpful. After being bounced around from dr to dr for months, he accepted my referral and had me booked for an appt within a few days. He spent time talking about my emotional distress as well as my physical and almost immediately had a tentative diagnosis for me. That diagnosis (lupus) turned out to be correct and he started treatment that had my symptoms under control within weeks. His office staff was friendly and accommodating, as i was coming from out of town, he might be a bit brusque and his attempts at wry humor taken for rudeness but overall i left his office feeling relaxed and comfortable. I see him almost every month to update my treatment and i always, always have a perfect, professional and very illuminating experience. He wont coddle you but he will diagnose and treat you if you let him. Great doctor.

The first time I saw Dr. T, he rushed through my bone scan report and overlook some details, after I told him I did the X-rays at the same time, it should be there, then he found it. Not interested to explain, poor interpersonal skills. Not enough knowledge to diagnosis, lots of tests-9 tubes of blood test. It was not a good experienced at all. (Compare to my previous Dr. A, he never did any test that he thought was unnecessary, he told me before not much can be diagnosis by blood test, is by symptoms. He is awesome. He is retired now). Dr. T's receptionist is not helpful and rude. Because her mistake of my CT screen appointment and did not double check even I asked. I waited for 4 weeks for nothing. Finally it was done three weeks ago. She did not help me to relocate my MRI appointment from VGH to RJH. I had to do it myself. They both do not care patients, I will not recommend Dr. Tenenbaum to anyone.

Some people think that he's brusk and uncaring, but he's amazingly smart, dedicated, and attentive. I think if you're expecting someone to mollycoddle you and make sympathetic noises, you could be turned off. But he and his staff treated me efficiently and with the utmost respect. He was compassionate about my issues and wanted to get to the bottom of them. He listened intently. Though, I recommend that you provide him with a list of your meds, symptoms, and history. This was a positive experience from someone who's had the runaround in the medical system.

Rude, arrogant, over-books his patients to the point that his office should have a revolving door because you're in one minute and out the next. Will give you only a minute for your appointment but book you in to see him at at least 3 X a week so he gets the visit billing but does nothing for your illness. After seeing him a half dozen times, and his misdiagnosis from the beginning, he tells me, as he is escorting me to the front reception, that I now have full-blown RA and will just have to "live with it". I asked him how long 'till I am unable to walk at all and he announces in a loud voice, in front of everyone in the waiting area, that if I was going to have that kind of negative attitude, I would have to get another doctor. So, I said, "You got it buddy, YOU'RE FIRED!", and I got referred to Dr. de Champlain, who is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL and the RA is now under control and I am dancing, running, and generally doing everything that I could do before the onset of this disease.

I have had 3 appointments with Dr. T - you may think that he is Rushing you, but he is an extremely busy doctor. There is a shortage of Rheumatologist in Victoria. This man knows his stuff and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a good Rheumatologist

Probably the worst bedside manner I've ever experienced. He speeds through his HX and exam and gives patients next to no time to elaborate. I was not a fan!
