I can’t thank dr hekkenberg enough for the exceptional treatment I received from him and his staff for my partial thyroidectomy on December 4th 2023.

On the day of my biopsy and my consultation, dr hekkenberg was so kind, caring , understanding and funny! He also explained everything to me. I had all the confidence in him for my surgery.

On the day of my surgery, I was so nervous but I knew I was in good hands. After surgery, dr hekkenberg himself came to speak with me as well he called me twice to follow up after surgery.

I highly recommend Dr Hekkenberg, hands down the best surgeon/doctor.

The most efficient and effective stress free surgery I’ve ever experienced.
The overall environment was professional and relaxing the music was a bonus.
I was more stressed finding parking at RVH.

What a wonderful doctor!!! He was kind, friendly and quite funny. Made me feel very comfortable from the moment he said hello. Introduced his nurse (Allison in the corner) and was very thorough in explaining what he was going to be doing. It's a tricky medical system we have right now, so finding some is hard enough, and finding someone who actually seems to care, was so refreshing.

great doctor, had a cancer removed in clinic. while I waited for my appt, he got me from the waiting room. walked with me- so kind to take the time. he was professional, sincere and reassured me while under local anesthesia. I never write reviews but saw the last previous one- please disregard- some people, you can never make them happy or their standard is unachievable. i am later in my life and people like this are burning out the talented doctors that we have .

Was referred to Hekkenberg by my family doctor to remove a lump that is causing me pain. My family doctor believed that the pain was caused by the lump pushing up against a nerve in my arm, and it should be removed.

Hekkenberg was late coming to the appointment (which I can sort of forgive because he could be busy). After talking with him about this lump, he said , “There is no way that the pain is coming from it being pushed up against a nerve, but I will remove it AS A FAVOUR TO YOUR FAMILY DOCTOR.”

Excuse me?? A favour to my family doctor?? How about as a favour to me, the guy in pain??

I do apologize if I interrupted your time on the golf course or at the country club.

It has never been removed and I have learned to deal with this pain (without medication). I just grit my teeth and carry on.
