The emergency dept you need to think twice do I really need to go, as the standard care is nonexistent you will be given a gown and then directed to change in the dirty bathroom was the last time it was cleaned is anyone,s guess on top of an 11hr waiting time. Hooraa PS hope your not colour blind when you're directed to follow a coloured line to get anywhere.
Horrible. Came in at 1015 pm is now 3 am still haven’t since doctor. We got moved to a room and left......the trash can is full there are two used plastic tubes on the floor and the sharp smart containers is up and black container hanging out. The hallways are empty and all you can hear is a couple of nurses discussing their lives. Filthy room, lack of service and total disgust is the reason for this rating.
I had eye surgery in this Hospital on September 22.19, Initiated from one of Barrie's local drunks. To put it mildly a life-changing experience. Now to the good news, I am overwhelmed by the quality of facilities, and the extremely dedicated staff that took care of me for my 48 hours in their care . These people we're second to none in the industry. It was a very traumatic time for myself, and these people went over and Beyond the Call of Duty. I want to thank all the staff at Royal Vic Hospital, for the dedication and sincerity hey gave towards me in my most desperate time. Sincerely, R.Palmer
The worst hospital I have ever been to. Staff is rude, you may get the odd nurse that is great, but over all, horrible. My mother fell in her home and layed there for 3 days.. upon arrival after I got to emergency 1 hour later, my mother was still in her own excrement.
Went after car accident. Doctor was sexually inappropriate and inappropriately touched without permission. Also made to unclothe in front of him. Did not check or ask questions regarding concussion, did not check back, only looked at knee that hit dashboard and repeatedly stroked up and down both knees.
Just an absolute terrible experience. When having to go to the emergency room, you never want to be treated like a nuisance, after all people who go to the ER are doing so out of fear that their issue could be life damaging, they need help, or they need immediate medical attention. Most of the nurses there have THE worst bedside manners. I was left in a bed hooked up to track my vitals, and was told I could leave now. When I went to get up - while moderately sedated at this point, I had realized she didn’t unhook any of the monitors. My mom asked for help and they told her I could just « pull them out »... you leave there feeling like a major inconvenience and still worried and needing medical advice and direction.
Worst care for the elderly I have ever seen. Nurse had a concern that there was a problem as his hand was very cold. Patient was waiting for surgery at the time. This was on a Saturday night. The on call doctor if you could call him that came in to assess. He obviously was annoyed a being called in. He rushed in, redid a test the nurse did, chose to raise his voice and then spoke down to the nurse. His call everything was fine. Low and behold my 90 year old Dad had the surgery. His a blew up three times the size. After surgery an ultrasound was done on his arm for veins only. Ten days later nurse called in vascular surgeon. Low and behold there was a blood clot in an artery. Result Far has lost use of his right hand. The incompetence of on call doctor was the cause of this. We will be taking a legal path now.
