Dr. McPhee has helped us deal with a very difficult family situation with patience and kind understanding. His upcoming retirement will be a great loss. We thank him.

Abusive insecure reprobrate, who became a psychiatrist for the money and egotistic delusion of actually being a human being!

Dr. McPhee is the best. Does he push at times? Yes, but he's also incredibly patient and very knowledgeable.

He has helped me to leave a very abusive relationship with a skillful manipulator. He was able to bring out the things that were so intimidating that caused me to be so fearful and question my sanity. I have felt so free for the last six months in spite of all the threats made to both me and Dr. Mcphee.

Dr McPhee has been with me & my immediate family, extended family & many friends & acquaintances since about 1975. Over the years I have referred many people who later expressed gratitude for his kind & knowledgeable counsel. I will always be grateful that Dr McPhee was there for me & my family when life seemed too great to bear. Dr. McPhee has not only helped me through the dark times but has helped me to understand myself & gain the tools I need to handle what life throws at me, on my own. Although I haven't seen Dr. McPhee in a few years I am selfishly sorry to hear he is retiring. I can only hope that some of those bright young minds he taught have acquired some of his easy thoughtful & caring ways to go with the knowledge & intelligence he imparted. I wish Dr McPhee a long & happy retirement in the knowledge that he has helped so many, not for the short term, but for life. Thank you Dr. McPhee.

Dr. McPhee is warm, compassionate, funny and kind. He is also punctual, professional and exhibits a high level of skill and intuition. At times he irritates the hell out of me- but usually I later realize that he had a purpose in challenging me that day; it usually leads to a breakthrough moment. Despite what another commenter has said- Dr. McPhee does not rush to a diagnosis, or didn't in my case. I saw him weekly for 3 months before he determined what I was/am dealing with. He also has never pushed medication on me, although he is open to discussing it, if I decide I want to try that. He does a lot of cognitive behavioural therapy in his sessions. Overall- I went to this man at one of the lowest points in my life and he has helped me immensely. I am still seeing him and will hopefully continue to see him until he retires. Regrettably, I think he may be retiring relatively soon.

He was very accepting of my concerns about medications and helped me to find a way to deal with my journey with cancer and the effects on my young family.

He understood my emptiness and aloneness. He was always respectful of my sensitivity and mistrust while in my depression. At times he was very challenging while he helped me to alter my coping ways for a less troubled life. He acccepted my stubbornness and anger. He has helped me through a very dark time by showing me my strengths and inner value.

Dr. McPhee is a "mediocre," his words not mine, psychiatric genius. He has helped me to outsmart myself and always makes me laugh in the process. This doctor is compassionate yet firm and had adeptly and inuitively combined medicine (a comprehensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, genetics, and biology) together with psychology and ethology (animal behaviour). He is smart and assertive in poking through to the unconscious mind and has helped me re-program myself towards finding a better way. I truly believe that he does suspend his own values in using my own in assessing, clarifying and enhancing my own behaviour. It's been fun and difficult all at once, but I wouldn't trade this past year for anything. Almost there... :-)
