I have been a patient of Dr Stelzer for almost 3 years. During this time, Dr has helped me to restructure the way I think because my thoughts hurt my mind and body. With his help I have been able to cope and process situations that are outside my control but this is only possible with his advice and expertise that cannot be compared. Dr Stelzer is a blessing in my life, and he has helped me to improve my self-esteem, and self-confidence. Lastly, I appreciate he remembered facts that I share with him years ago and also for making time out of busy schedule to connect with me and to be available whenever I need to have a session with him. I cannot thank him enough for what he has done for me and also for helping me see the beauty of life outside my fearful thoughts.

Excellent Psychiatrist, he is really caring and interested in the patients issues and lives. Always ready to provide support and share his knowledge.

All of medical related decisions I've made in my entire life, continuing therapy with this doctor was counter intuitive. All my senses told me to move on, but this doctor just won't let go. He keeps calling and searching for some kind of hook, and it seems to just make things worse in my home.

The rarest find of not only a psychiatrist but of an incredible human being. I have never encountered a practitioner who cared deeper and more purely for his patients than Dr. Stelzer. It was clear upon our first meeting that he entered this practice because he cared deeply for people. It was never about "business." He went out of his way to always make time or be available. Dr. Stelzer provides a practical and unique perspective, sprinkled in humour, wisdom, old teachings, philosophy and science, to guide you to certain understandings and truths. My every happiness now, I owe to people who guided me during my darkest times and he was certainly one of them. Like family. I wish there could be a Dr. Jose Stelzer in the world for everyone who needs a guiding voice and listening ear in the way he provides. So much respect and appreciation for this Dr.

Dr. Stelzer holds a special spot in my memory, even though I am no longer a Manitoba resident, I will always be grateful for his help when I went through a very difficult few years. Even in another province he will go out of his way to help because he truly cares. When visiting with him, I felt more like I was talking to a wise sage than to a psychiatrist, such is his approach. He treats you like a human being, not a subject. He offers practical, spiritual and anecdotal advice, peppering his sessions with old sayings and making it feel like you were not just there to talk about your problems but to learn about life and philosophy. Every session was a session into the human condition. He also went out of his way many times to accommodate my schedule. While he may be too blunt for some people, I recommend going to him when you are ready to hear what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. He is old school, perhaps too direct for some people of the new generation who gets offended at any disagreement with him. I highly recommend visiting him if you are ready to change your life around.
