After seeing several neurologists in Winnipeg and getting no help I was referred to Dr. Schmitt. He diagnosed me correctly and I am truly thankful. He listens to you and takes his time to help you. I am so fortunate to have been referred to him.

Dr.Schmidt is the best Dr. I have ever seen. He listens to everything you have to say and is never in a rush to get rid of you.

I was sent to emergency by my GP based on a phone call to Dr. Schmidt. It was a non-emergency but based on my symptoms he wanted to see me in person. I saw one of his student doctors almost immediately for a barrage to tests and then had to wait about 8 hours due to their department being extremely busy that day and I have no issues with this wait under the circumstances. When he did become available he gave me his full attention and ran whatever tests he needed and went over my blood work. He was very kind and knowledgeable and seemed like he genuinely cared. He assured me that the problem was temporary but even at that he managed to squeeze me in for an MRI just to be sure there wasn't any underlying problem. When all the results came back clear he came and talked to me in the waiting room and gave me the full run down, answered my questions, gave me a prescription and explained what they did and how to use them and gave me a number if the problem continued beyond a few days.

My husband had a stroke and was treated by Dr. Schmidt when he came into Health Science's emergency, Thanksgiving 2010. He treated my husband like he was the only patient he had. The outlook was fair and then my husband condition began to degrade. Dr. Schmidt was there for us with encouragement. The next day my husband conditioned changed and Dr. Schmidt recommended surgery and the Surgeon. Dr. Schmidt said if he was in the same position recommended the Surgeon and he said if was in the same position he would have the surgery performed with that very same surgeon. I don't know if my Husband would be alive today if it weren't for Dr. Schmidt's constant vigilance, expertise and caring

Dr. Schmidt is probably the most caring, thorough and knowledgeable doctor I have ever consulted with in all my life. I wish he could be my family physician. The first time I was referred to him was in 2001. Ten years later, I'm back at his office for another visit and he took the time to find my file. Probably had to go in the basement to find it. What a wonderful, kind and caring man he is. He is the epitome of doctors! Wish there were more doctors like him.

My mother had a stroke and was treated by Dr. Schmidt at Emergency. The outcome would have been worse, but she received the right treatment at the right time and she has fully recovered. He checked on her every day during her hospital stay and made sure that we followed up with him a couple of months later. He is very professional and caring. We owe my mom's life to him. Thank you Dr. Schmidt.

fantastic Doctor. Knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. He treated my husband in emergency for a stroke. In the beginning the outlook was unstable, and then took a turn for the better. He recommended endarterectomy surgery. He said the surgeon was great, and if he was in my husbands position he would have the surgery done - he eased our minds. Thanks for everything Dr. Schmidt

I have been seeing this doctor for over a year. He is the most passionate person i have ever dealt with. He is not quick to diagnose the problem until he is 100% sure. We are very fortunate to have Dr. Schmidt in Winnipeg.
