Dr Marka continues to not listen to the symptoms my daughter keeps having which all started when they (DrSellers also) places her on Levo he will not do a complete thyroid panel and keeps telling me she is fine when she is not. If he actually listened to us and her symptoms he could maybe help her. Levo is not a one drug fits all. How can it be. He refuses to try another medication or prove me wrong by doing proper testing and not relying on the TSH alone in making any medication dosing. Please start listening to your patients.

still not satisfied after repeated visits over the yrs.
we felt the need to offer some respect & further visits to not prejudge . Also some of the other staff suggested it could benefit his learning to be given this feedback . so yes we gave it a couple more attempts .Nope . not worth your child's health or risk so a dr. can use you as a learning tool then not change either.
Still arrogant no social skills ..... no indication of listening or open to learn .

My son is 5 and has seen 3 of the endo's at HSC. The first time we saw Dr. Marks the ball had been seriously dropped on my son's medical condition by his GP. I had done a bit of research and went in there requesting specific tests that are long and costly and he agreed very readily that we needed things back on track ASAP. He is quick and doesn't visit as much as the other staff in the office but he is busy and he does his job well. I have never found him rude or abrupt. Weeks later when we came back for the tests we had to travel from way up north and spend the day in the pediatric day unit at children's and he walked over during the tests just to say hi and see how things were going which I thought was very considerate!

I love the whole team at the office. Mary the receptionist can recognize us on the street coming in to the building and always takes a moment to chat with her buddy. We also live very far from Winnipeg and Mary goes out of her way to make sure our appointment is booked at the most convenient time possible for travel and to coordinate with other specialists. Nicole, the endo nurse emails and calls whenever I have the slightest concern or question about doses, testing, or symptoms. If she isn't sure she always double checks and gets back to us very quickly.

I saw Dr. Marks only once when I was younger and attending the peds diabetes clinic at the UAH. He was working under Dr. Girgis as a resident at the time and even after all these years I remember how amazing he was. He was patient, gentle, and took his time to explain everything and answer all of my questions. After seeing him, I never wanted to go back to Dr. Girgis again (she was absolutely terrible, and it showed even more after the excellent care I received from Dr. Marks). I very highly recommend him, especially for those who have difficulty trusting doctors and/or are frightened to see them. He is very reassuring with a wonderful bedside manner that will put anyone at ease!

Was not happy with his dismissive tones and how he didn't listen to concerns. He seemed set on saying what he wanted to say and not care if that was what the need of the patient was.

I liked this dr....he calls a spade a spade and that's what my teenager needed to hear (although, teenager was not at all impressed!). I did not feel rushed and he took the time to look thru logbook/print-out looking for patterns that may need insulin dose adjustments. Would be happy to see him again.

Called him because my daughter was having high blood sugar he increased insulin dose to double without having to listen too carefully next day she experienced hypoglycaemic after the first insulin injection. I felt he was being careless, too quick to dismiss me.

very poor communication skills . felt rushed during appointment .which only happens once -twice per yr. not a good listener . especially regarding concerns about symptoms and meds. perhaps a little to much assumption of the all knowing doctor attitude was present maybe just needing to learn better social skills .
