I called the office today to request an appointment with Dr. Reina and was asked why I wanted to see her. I told the person who answered the phone what my problem was.
The PA, Donna Trees, called me back and left a message totally unrelated to why I wanted to see Dr. Reina. I called the office back and spoke with Donna. She told that I had not seen the Dr. since august 2016 and that I should see an orthopedist. I was denied an appointment by Donna and diagnosed through the telephone. I thought I had a primary Dr., guess was wrong

Dr. Reina strengths: good listener, thorough, professional; calls promptly with test result information. Dr. Reina weaknesses: does not return calls promptly. Nursing staff: pleasant. Office staff strengths: None that I can think of. They generally interrogate me when I am trying to make an appointment, have never greeted me with a smile or pleasant welcome and when paying my copay on departure are generally, well, sullen. Likewise for the Park Avenue support staff as well.

I am a patient of Dr. Reina's for over 15 years. A specialist ran blood tests and told me to follow up with my primary due to abnormal results. I called Dr. Reina's office and was told that I was no longer a patient of hers because I had not seen her in 3 years. (???) I was without words. I was told I could become a new patient and that the doctor could see me the end of July. (???) I told this person that because of abnormal blood tests that I was unable to wait until the end of July. (Today is May 16th) She was quiet - so I said "Are you telling me after 15 years I now have to find a new primary?" I was told the nurse practitioner in the office can see me in 2 weeks... I am having such difficulty comprehending this... I am well educated yet cannot even form words over this... Long story short - I guess I am looking for a new primary doctor.

I have always been very happy with Dr, Reina's care but I never had to leave a message before. They could not fit me in for an appointment for 2 weeks and I left a message for the doctor to call me two days ago and I still have gotten no call back. I called back today and they said she has the message and will call you when she has time.

Good luck trying to get through to the office! When you finally get through, you usually get an attitude. Like the doctor, hate the office. Try looking somewhere else for care!

Cant get an apt with Dr Reina unless you are available all day and dont hold down a job. Her staff and nurse practicioner are totally useless. Wish she would add more evening hours.
