Disinterested, rude, dismissive. Outdated knowledge. Would not recommend and immediately asked my dr to change cardiologists.

Dr. Bloomberg went over results with me, giving me explanations for any and all questions. I was given ample time and in no way felt rushed. Office staff was polite and professional.

The staff is extremely helpful and kind especially the front desk receptionist. She seemed very busy but took the time to help me. Dr. Bloomberg was on time. He didn’t spend a lot of time with me, but explained everything that was important.

A fantastic physician . was so grateful to have been referred to him following my heart surgery 1 year ago... He has addressed all of my concerns. And I feel very optimistic about my ongoing health needs in this Regard.

He was disinterested and unhelpful. He barely let me speak or ask questions, he dismissed most of what I was asking/saying and his responses did not make sense. At one point told me that I could google this. Definitely go see someone else.

Your heart rate during exercise is unique to you and only tells you how hard you’re working, not how fit you are. “There is absolutely no reason to compare heart rates between two people,” says Friel. “Doing so tells us nothing about either person as far as fitness or performance is concerned. It’s like comparing shoes sizes to determine how fit someone is. There is little in the way of an absolute and direct relationship between the two.”

I was referred to Dr. Bloomberg for a stress test at Burnaby Hospital after a visit to Burnaby Hospital ER for a possible heart attack. He was rude and uninterested in me as a patient. Did not ask me any questions except “Why did you call 911”. Just told me to do the stress test and then dismissed me after 2 minutes with him. After the stress test just told me I have to go back to get a Holter monitor. There was a lot of confusion at his office too when I called them for follow ups. They also didn’t get back to me to let me know about my echocardiogram appointment. I didn’t know about the appointment until I got a reminder phone call in April. And then when the result came out my family doctor was the first to inform me that I have atrial myxoma (tumour in the heart). Dr. Bloomberg called me a couple of days later to tell me what I had. He was curt, did not explain anything and just told me I need surgery and before surgery I need to do an angiogram. After my appointment was set up for the angiogram I got my family doctor to change my cardiologist. I would never recommend Dr Bloomberg to anyone even though he is the head cardiologist at Burnaby Hospital!!!!

I took a family member to see Dr. Bloomberg annually for a few years. He would say her heart is 'fine' or 'okay'. Are those official medical terminology? One day, he said, she needs a pacemeaker. I tried to ask about its implications and other options. He said the surgeon will explain everything. I figure the surgeon will talk about the surgery. Tried to ask another question but he started typing on his Blackberry. Score 0 for helpfulness. 0 for knowledge if he does not care to share it. Never again.

Go to someone else, there is no point in seeing Dr. Bloomberg. When I saw him for a consult he clearly had not even looked at any of my background or the information in front of him, and his first 4 suggestions were to run tests he already had the results from in front of him. After about 2 minutes of that he suggested baby aspirin, said I could survive in my current condition until I was 55, and pushed me out of his office. He didn't want to answer questions, he didn't ask me a single one, and he had zero interest in helping my condition. I honestly think he saw me as a good monthly consult would would survive without being actually treated for years to come, who he could see for 2 minutes, do nothing, and bill MSP for. FYI he billed over $1M to MSP in 2021. He's not helping people, he's scamming taxpayers.
