Mu husband has Dr. Weir and I find that all my questions are answered promptly. He is caring doctor and very knowledgeable and I hope I have my husband for a few more years.

I hear he is very knowledgeable, but I found Dr Weir arrogant and not at all forthcoming with answers to my questions. I felt like he just wanted to tell me what to do without explanation. He left me on a drug that I was told by another doctor I would only be on for a short period of time until my lab results improved. I ended up almost psychotic and had to go through another doctor to wean me off of it. If he had allowed me to discontinue it at the appropriate time not only would I not have had to be weaned off the drug, thereby lengthening my mental instability, I would not have developed the instabilities to begin with. I specifically ask to NOT be seen by him.

As previously remarked , Dr. Weir is in a class by himself. I have never had a Dr.come out to greet me or be so concered with my welfare. He goes to great lengths to make sure my husband and I understand what is happening and what needs to be done. This is in addition to his remarkable technical knowledge and skill

I went into hospital on April 30th of this year very ill.I was told i had stage 5 kidney failure and the first doctor to start treating me was Dr. Weir.I am so lucky and fortunate to have a kidney doctor of his class.I have been HIV positive for ten years and have dealt with numerous doctors over the years and i am so impressed with Dr. Weir and i would recommend him to my family or close friends any day of the week.

Awesome doctor. Totally. First met him when I was 23 and having issues. He remembered me years later when I had to return for ongoing care, and has been following me since. He takes a genuine interest in the whole person, and not just the bean shaped organs that are misbehaving.

Dr Weir is an amazing physician. He cared for my Mom for over 25 years, the last 5 years through dialysis. He is sincere, dedicated, and is the best nephrologist in Victoria and probably Canada. I would recommend him to anyone with kidney disease without hesitation.
