Never wrote on rate my anything before but stumbling on this page, I can't hold back. I too feel that Dr Levy has saved my life. He is the first doctor I have ever been to who has truly been compassionate and so knowledgeable about obesity. He knows people do not choose to be obese but that many of us have other common health issues that create situations where losing weight is a nightmare. You must be willing to do the testing he recommends and follow any treatments needed or you will defeat yourself. If you don't want to be diagnosed with say diabetes, depression,or ADD(if indeed you have any of these)then why go to a doc at all? Be open, be brave and try not to be your own worst enemy. My new diagnoses were confirmed by other MD's. Yes some were hard to accept initially. Dr Levy is so thorough,knowledgeable and takes the time to try and figure out our issues. It makes me crazy if I have to deal with doctors who are not sharp or who are lazy so Dr Levy is the perfect doctor for me.

I have been going to Dr. Levy for a year and he has literally saved my life. I was tired but blaming my lifestyle and he discovered I had very low iron which was not picked up by my medical doctor and when I started taking the iron, my energy started coming back.e He has also discovered I had high blood pressure which with my family history could have given me a stroke or heart attack and again was not picked up by my medical doctor. He has knowledge in every field and all the advice he has given me has helped me not only lose weight but live a richer peaceful life. A friend of mine had gone and was told she needed the sleep study and is grateful since the results have helped her. She has lost weight and has kept it off. He is very professional and I look forward to my appts since they are always full of knowledge to help me. I am so grateful he is such a modest, incredible, smart, talented doctor. I am glad I am not in denial and can benefit from his services.

I've been seeing Dr. Levy for 3 years. I started seeing him for weight issues, and he gave me my ADD diagnosis. I owe him so much. He's taught me a lot about myself and I've made a lot of progress. He calls me out on stuff, and not afraid to be honest. I've learned a lot about myself and i highly recommend him.

Dr. Levy seemed slightly egotistical and self-aggrandizing. He asked me a battery of questions, but many times answered my questions for me before I had a chance to respond. He seemed to want to slot me into a certain category, like ADD. Also was trying to push medication and a sleep study, without getting my approval or consent. I DID feel uncomfortable, but wasn't sure why. I checked out his profile on the College of Physicians and Surgeons, and it seems his license was revoked a number of years earlier due to inappropriate behaviour with a patient. Based on this and my experience with him first hand, would never go to him again.

I have found Dr. Levy incredible from my first visit. He does not judge you. I feel he has the experience, wisdom and I enjoy going to my visits. I feel those who blame him for refering them to other doctors as well do not recognize that there are different specialist depending on what is causing the weight issue. He takes my concerns very seriously and has always been modest. I feel truly lucky to have been refered to him and he has given me hope and the tools to reach my goal. I think those who complain about him are those who find faults in others and not themselves and this may be a reason for them not taking responsibility for their weight. I have been overweight for 14 years and this is the first time that I have met someone who I felt that had the wisdom, experience and care to make me feel in control in helping myself. I could only say great things about Dr. Levy since I believe he has been the best doctor I have ever met in my whole life!! EM

This doctor believes that all overweight people have a mental disorder. He's not personable and he doesn't believe in natural solutions to weight management but would rather make a diagnosis and put you on some medication. I'd love to know his success rate because I don't know one person who has gone to him who lost the weight and kept it off.

Dr Levy was a life saver for me. I have nothing but kind things to say about him. Yes he did prescribe pills for my add and depresison but he was the first person to actually take me seriously. He helped me go back to school (and get it fully funded by the gov, get me my special needs diagnosis for extra help) and had me see a sleep specialist the same day I went to see him for the first time(where I'm from it takes up to a year.) The sleep specialist has since diagnosed me with Narcolepsy and Sleep Apnea. If it wouldn't be for Dr. Levy, I don't know if I would still be alive. Though I didn't lose weight, I regained my life! Dr Levy was kind, understanding, non-judgemental. Some may say he's proud, I say he has the right to be.

Referred by Dr.Kenneth Buttoo - (who could not figure out what my sleep issues were) sent me to Dr.Levy. He was convinced I needed drug therapy. I did not respond great to the anti-anxiety drugs prescribed... so he just prescribed additional. He is seemingly intelligent, coming from someone who refers to his own book for for reference and advice. He is defintely egocentric and demonstrates his adoration for his accomplishments (picture of himself with bill clinton in his clinic)... When I refused to take anymore meds because I wanted to use 'tools' to deal with my problems instead, he basically adivsed he wouldn't be able to assist me. I would watch this Dr. as he works closely with Dr.Buttoo. It wouldn't surprise me if they were working together to refer patients?

While I am not seeing Dr. Levy for weight loss, I am being treated for adult ADD as well as a 15 year battle with anorexia/ bulimia, plus several other mood and hormonal issues. In all the years of seeing professionals, specialist, therapists, both in and out patient settings... NOT ONE has the compassion, patience, knowledge and intuition that he has provided over the last year. I am hopeful and more well right now than I ever have been in my life. I don't think I am an easy case to most, and somehow he has managed to figure all this out and help me HELP MYSELF. I, like many others I am sure, believe I owe him and his treatment approach my life. He bends over backwards for his patients considering he always calls you back personally, doesn't force you to come in and pay a session fee every time you have a concern or question and honestly trusts your feeling on how things are going, within logical reason of course. He's a fantastic doctor.
