Clerk was polite and welcoming. Dr Burke is professional he admits when he doesn’t know things and references credible sources to find information you request or need. He listened to my concerns and together we brain stormed ideas on how to resolve the issue or try different methods. We made a plan that worked for me. He provided me with resources and references for further reading that is credible and not just found on dr google search (lol). I was seen at my scheduled time- no waiting or delay. He spent 45 minutes with me and I didn’t feel rushed. Completed a thorough assessment. I am very happy with this specialist appointment and the plan we have, as well as the knowledge I have been given. It may have helped that I am a health care professional and understand what we discussed as well as going in with prior knowledge to the condition we talked about but I would say 5/5 for this visit!

My husband was referred to this doctor.
Can never get a straight answer
Never follows up as he says
Was suppose to book CT scan etc
Never did
Have made numerous calls to his office
Never a return call
If my husband has a stroke or something because of the thus so called specialist!!!!!
No wonder Winnipeg has the worst reputation for bad doctors.
Perfect example!!!!

Dr. Bourque is thoughtful, kind and sincere and I have always felt that he deliberately makes an effort to thoroughly investigate all of the nuances of my condition, particularly any new development. Wait times for an appointment are not ideal but he is a Neurologist in Winnipeg, not a big mac meal I am ordering from McDonalds.

Doctor is arrogant and slow. It takes 8 months for him to send in a preapproval for a condition that has been on record for 30 years. I called the College of Physicians and Surgeons and was advised to fill out their form as that was officially unacceptable. After 30 years, MRIs and a diagnosis from 6 doctors, this Dr. says it's wrong. Do not think about seeing this Dr., he should retire soon, so his patients can receive the proper care, they definitely are lacking .

This neurologist in my opinion has the God complex. I waited four months to see him. I suffer from sudden onset nystagmus in my left eye, constant tremors in both legs every night, 24/7 loud ringing in my ears, dizziness, and other minor complaints that may or may not have anything to do with the main complaints. I am a 26 year insulin dependant diabetic which by itself is cause for concern for diabetic neuropathy. Dr. Bourque brought my MRI up on his screen, said "Its all clear." Then he sat back and stared at me saying nothing. He offered no explanation for my symptoms or suggestions of where we go from here. I would not give him the pleasure of pleading with him. I read his reviews before the visit and expected exactly what I got. Sure enough...

If you have been referred to him, ask your family doctor for an alternate neurologist. This one is NOT willing to help you. I feel he is burnt out.

I have seen this doctor 3 times in 20 years. His current receptionist is friendly and welcoming. my GP referred me to him again for lingering, annoying neuro symptoms and my appointment was set for 7 months after the referral. I am to sure just what my GP wrote in the referral letter, but from the start of the appointment, I rec'd exactly the same lecture about how he has become wealthy from the Internet b/c people Google twitches and the first disease to come up is ALS. I did not google my condition and do not think that I have ALS. I was looking for some insight into unexplained symptoms that I have had for 10 to 15 years. Instead I heard about the doctor's exact same symptoms as mine, his wife's symptoms and was regularly asked if I was worried and anxious about having MS or ALS. It was also mentioned that teachers at my age were usually experiencing burn out. I have no idea what that comment was for. He efficiently completed a neuro exam and that. I passed with flying colours. The brain MRI results were discussed in a way that made me feel like a hypochondriac as well. I was offered some kind of a nerve conduction test if it would put my mind at ease about ALS. I repeated that I didn't come to see him thinking that I had ALS. Upon leaving, he once again mentioned that he would be happy to do the test if it would make me feel better. I assume that this doctor is a smart man and has obviously helped a lot of people. I di not appreciate his manner and was embarrassed that I visited him again for the same lecture.

An excellent neurologist. The receptionist is very nice and considerate; took time to call me back to confirm my family doctor had received my test results.

Over the past 40 years I have seen many neurolgical specialists. And, everyone did not take any of my concerns seriously at all, even though I have confirmed diagnosed Neurological condition. Dr. Bourque is the 1st. Doctor that understands my concerns. And, wants to get the root causes of all my growing neurolgical pain and weakness. I find him very understanding, knowledgeable, caring, empathetic and professional. I am very thankful that I have him as my neurologist.
