excelent results on right shoulder replacement. Dr Higgins was very informative on what he would be doing, and on how I should feel. also, post surgery follow up has been excelent. I am very happy with my surgery and my doctor. I do wish I had done it sooner!!

I can take incredibly long office visits, and the plethora of med students it takes to actually see this guy. But I don't like being ignored. Higgins appeared to be nice the first few times that I saw him. He really wanted to "get to the bottom of my shoulder issues." (I've already had 4 surgeries with other doctors out of state). However, after not being able to make a definitive diagnosis he passed me off on a colleague. This colleague was able to do diagnose the issue, but then sent back to Higgins. HIGGINS NEVER RETURNED MY CALL! Now, I am stuck with agonizing shoulder pain, and a surgeon who won't operate because he wants me to go back to Higgins, and Higgins, who won't return phone calls. While I think he's a good doctor, I can't recommend a doctor who doesn't care enough to even tell his patients they should find a new doctor.

After several years dealing with an ailing shoulder, I found Dr. Higgins on my own - - no referral necessary with my medical plan. Impressive doesn't come close to describing him. He is courteous, really cares about his patients, and takes his time with a patient. He also doesn't rush into a decision on surgery. He suggested physical therapy for me first, then provided a select list of physical therapists he recommended. The therapist I saw was as careful and thorough as Dr. Higgins was (and practiced in my home town). Unfortunately, I did need arthroscopy to clean out my shoulder, but fortunately, I had the best doctor to do it! Post-surgical followups were as thorough as pre-surgical visits. Not only was he professional and pleasant to deal with, but his staff was exceptional as well, particularly his PAC and his EA. Going to see Dr. Higgins was the best decision I made in 2009!

I can not say enough positive things about Dr Higgins. He is one of the most dedicated doctors. He really listens to his patients and he truly cares for each one. His communication style is clear, direct, honest and so very supportive. He is an inspiring doctor, and a great person. I admire him immensely.

This comment is long overdue. I have never met a doctor with the knowledge an expertice Dr Higgins has who ALSO truly cares about his patients. I was referred to Dr Higgins by Dr Thornhill from BWH because it was pretty clear I needed a shoulder replacement. I made my appointment for my ct arthrogram on the morning of my appointment with him so I wouldn't have to drive 1hour to Boston twice. Unfortunatley, his staff gave me an appointment on a day he was to be out of town. HE called me to apologize for the error, reviewed my test w Dr Thornhill, and called me back again to discuss their findings! Awesome, awesome doctor. Recommend him in a heartbeat! Up front, honest, pleasant, totally knowledgeable, thorough, can't say enough positive things about him!

Dr. Hggins takes his time with you. He does not rush.He is very caring, and excellent doctor.
