Please do not go to Dr. Guida. I was very happy and in the midst of accomplishing a lot of things in my career and personal life. However, for years I was having trouble getting enough air. I knew my septum was deviated and several ENTs recommended different options for helping me to increase my airflow as I had a very large concha bullosa in my nose. I did not want surgery. However, things were going well in my life and I felt that it was the time to take care of this issue and put it to rest for good. I was recommended to Dr. Guida. Dr. Guida claimed that my nose had been fractured despite my lack of recollection of this. He said, it was likely when I was a baby. Again, I could not recollect this, but, according to Dr. Guida, I was a baby at the time. He reviewed a CT scan of my septum and pointed out issues. He shared that I needed to correct the function of my nose. I believed him as he’d come highly recommended. I believed that he was an ethical doctor that would only do the most minimally invasive surgery required to ensure I was able to breathe. A year post the surgery, my nose and face look horrible. Dr. Guida destroyed the symmetry of my face and left my nose with significant pressure by the bridge and near my eyebrow. I have an actual dent in my nose where he ruined my skin and it appears peeled. The muscles by my left eyebrow seem strained and pulled. My eyebrows are noticeably uneven and it looks Quasimodo-ish. My nose looks short, angular, asymmetric, different and horrible. Dr. Guida also deprojected my nose without ever even bringing it up leading to an incredibly bulbous appearing tip. My nose is now much closer to my face and instead of having a thin, long nose and perfect tip I now have a short fat shapeless nose that does not suit my face. To top it all off, my breathing is worse then it ever had been. Dr. Guida also perforated my septum during surgery. He failed to provide me with my medical file despite numerous written requests. The operative report he provided has become a point of contention for two ENTs and three prominent ENT/facial plastic surgeons. I also requested my anesthesia report and obtained it from the anesthesiologist - on it, they wrote - deformed. To be frank, I always thought I was beautiful. I liked myself and my appearance and I had a nose that fit my face very well. I was shocked when I read that. I no longer am happy to any degree with my appearance and am traumatized. I cannot even forget about my surgery due to the continuous pressure by my eyebrow and radix. The bruises I had lasted months and left hemosiderin deposits under my eyes. I lost substantial credibility at work as a result of what he did. I hope my review helps someone to make a better informed decision then I did. Dr. Guida did what he wanted to my face with no regard for my appearance at all. He substantially impacted my life to a negative degree and was never honest about what he planned to do and never listened to what I wanted - I wanted air. I recently read that doctors sell tissue to tissue banks and wonder if Dr. Guida sold my tissue to a bank somewhere. Dr. Guida imo does not respect his patients and imo has forgotten what it really means to be a doctor and a member of the helping profession. I would bet that it is highly likely that he did not achieve his station in life via substantial scholarships and that someone paid a lot for him to be able to get to where he is today. The poor reviews on the doctor are true. I do not recommend supporting his practice.
