He may or may not be a good doctor. Have had a bacterial sinus infection for 5 months. I still have it. His organization and staff could care less. Don’t expect to talk to anyone over the phone and don’t expect a call back if you ever manage to find someone to leave a message with. His coordinator is particularly awful. Zero customer focus. If the were a business they’d have been out of business log ago. Mt. Sinai ENT I’d a disaster. Go somewhere albese. Anywhere.

Staff was rude and never bothered to pick up calls when trying to book appointment during regular work hours. Once I managed to book my appointment after 20 calls, I was forced to wait in the waiting room for over 45 minutes. My consultation lasted for 5 minutes and the only things I was told was to go to another hospital. Afterwards I was hit with an absurdly expensive bill. I still have not been treated for my condition and am living with chronic issues.

I was brought into the room right after I completed my forms. The doctor was very prompt to come in himself rather than a nurse or PA seeing me first. He was super nice and approachable, like talking to a good friend who totally gets you. He gave me multiple options without pushing me in any direction. I chose the treatment plan that made most sense to me, and my problem is all good and gone. Great visit. Would recommend to others.

Dr. Namdar literally saved me from going insane. I was having these intense headaches on the one side of my face for 4 months. I was bounced from urgent care to my primary care to a neurologist to another ENT to a headache specialist to a second ENT, each one of them telling me that the pattern of my headaches did not make sense to them medically and there is no reason they could find to explain my headaches. Finally I gave up on my network of doctors and went online to see Dr. Namdar had the most awesome reviews on Zocdoc.

By the time I showed up for my first appointment with him, I was an emotional mess and I just started crying as soon as he walked into the exam room. The super compassionate person that he is, he expertly calmed me down and reassured me. He then asked me some interesting questions about my headaches that no other previous doctor bothered to inquire about. With a quick local injection test in his office he was able to determine that the headaches are not migraines and are not “just in my head” as I was told before by other doctors. Turned out a bony projection from my septum was stabbing the side wall. Once we reviewed the options, I decided to have that bone shaved in surgery. My headaches have completely disappeared and I owe it all to Dr. Namdar for being able to make a diagnosis like nobody did before and fixing the problem for me once and for all. Above all, his ability to expertly and delicately handle a fragile and desperate patient on the verge of psychotic breakdown (me) and still come up with the right diagnosis and treatment plan is something I have never experienced before.

I wish he told me what to expect after my procedure like he did the other patient below. I wish he didn't talk me into procedures I did not need. For whatever reason, I didn't deserve informed consent like other patients. You can fool the others... but I know a disingenuous person when I meet one, and the truth will come to light eventually.

Dr. Namdar himself is a fine doctor. His staff, however, is atrocious. He told us that our child needed a tonsil surgery. But trying to get his assistant to give us a surgery date and go through the necessary pre-surgery procedures (insurance, etc) was beyond difficult and we finally gave up. They never returned calls, gave wrong information about getting clearance with primary care doctor, and finally after giving us the run-around for nearly 3 months, we found out that the secretary, Betty, had never even bothered to make the surgery date she had told us she had made. It was an experience in complete frustration. Do yourself a favor and go to another doctor. This doctor is capable, but his assistant (at the 59th Street office) is pretty much a no-show. You will only be wasting your your time.

Dr. Namdar correctly diagnosed my problem and, thanks to the procedure he performed, has returned my sense of smell which was near lost. His description of what to expect from the procedure was right on. I could not more highly recommend this doctor. He even rolled the gurney I was on from the prep room to the operating room.

If your child has a speech impediment, Dr. Namdar is NOT the person to see. Despite months of speech therapy, my child's hypernasality was not improving. Saw Dr. Namdar who noted a bifid uvula, felt the mouth's palate, said it was normal, said it was probably overkill but go ahead and seek out a Cleft Palate Team as suggested by my speech therapist. We had to seek out another ENT to put a fiberoptic camera down my child's nose to determine the cause of the speech problem. Dr. Namdar has no such equipment at his disposal at his Amsterdam Avenue address, didn't even mention it was an option. A Cleft Palate Team reviewed the camera video, noted the bifid uvula, felt my child's mouth and pronounced there was a notch there - in contradiction to Namdar. All these things pointed to a submucuous cleft. Surgery is needed to correct the hypernasal speech. Dr. Namdar completely missed all the signs.
