He performed a radical robotic tonsillectomy and a neck dissection on me and three years later (knock on wood) I'm cancer free. He was amazing through the whole process and I couldn't be more grateful that I ended up with him as my doctor.

Dr. Kutler is truly an exceptional, highly skilled otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon. In December of 2015 I was diagnosed with a tumor on the deep lobe of the parotid gland. I underwent the first surgery, by a different surgeon, in February of this year only to find out that it wasn't able to be removed because of a highly involved facial nerve. I was told that the tumor would not come out without significant facial nerve sacrifice which could cause a considerable amount of facial disfiguration. Not being satisfied with that outcome I thought it was time to seek another surgeon who could possibly remove the tumor without facial nerve sacrifice. I ran into a friend who has a brother that went through a similar situation, and highly recommended Weill Cornell Medical/ NY Presbyterian Hospital. I began to do research and came up with Dr. David Kutler. His medical credentials showed he was highly skilled in his profession and I was very impressed with the number of papers that he had written. I made an appointment and seen Dr. Kutler in September. I was immediately at ease with his calm and professional demeanor. He explained that he would do everything in his power to separate the nerve from the tumor, however if it was truly grossly involved I would also need a plastic surgeon that could do a nerve graft and cosmetically correct any facial abnormalities. I scheduled the surgery for November 15th, going into it not knowing what the outcome would be! Wow, was I nervous with uncertainty. I went into surgery and my wife and son waited anxiously for Dr. Kutler to come out. After about 2&1/2 hours he came to see my wife and son and said, “I got the tumor out and didn't have to sacrifice the nerve at all"! We were all elated that he saved my facial appearance, thank God that I came across this truly exceptional person. Every morning I get up, look in the mirror, smile and say, “thank you Dr. Kutler". He will always be someone that we owe the deepest gratitude, and will have a special place in our hearts.

Dr Kutler answered all my questions (some even before I asked them) and was very thorough explaining the procedure I needed. He built a trust and a comfort level so I was so much more at ease about having surgery. He cares about his patients and their individual needs. When I had a concern after I returned home from surgery and called his office, Dr. Kutler returned my call as soon as he could, and addressed and eased my concerns. I would highly recommend Dr.
Kutler. He is also great with teenagers and has a great sense of humor. For I, myself, am one.

Tests. he got my full respect and faith on his enormous knowledge.

Dr. David Kutler is an exceptional surgeon and an amazing Doctor. When I was diagnosed with a large thyroid tumor and started searching for the best surgeon, we called Dr. Kutler's office and his assistant Christine was very helpful and tried to fit me in as soon as possible. Dr. Kutler reviewed all the tests, presented options and patiently discussed and explained each of them. Christine was able to schedule the surgery very quickly and then followed up on each and every step before the surgery. The day before the surgery, both of them called asking if I have any questions. Dr. Kutler not only performed the surgery on a high mark, he visited me after it was done and was very re-assuring. Since I stayed in the hospital overnight, he came again to check on me at 6:30 AM on Saturday morning on his day off. Doctor Kutler and his stuff are simply fantastic, carrying, personable and excellent professionals! I'm a nurse myself and could really attest that this Doctor is a real gem!

Brilliant, exceptional surgeon. Tiny scar. What was supposed to have been a 2 hour surgery, he took 8 hours to do the best job possible removing the thyroid cancer. At the same time of being smiling, affable, he was repeatedly contemptuous of my being overweight, which as a late stage thyroid cancer survivor, was not appreciated. He was not interested in hearing about post operative pain, completely dismissive of discussing pain after surgery. No information whatsoever about the fact that it is common after thyroid surgery to lose function of the parathyroid gland, for life. No post op communication about what a life without a thyroid/parathyroid gland means for the patient. His referrals to endocrinologists were repeatedly bad and he had not even met them, he just pulled names off the hospital list, based his opinion on their academic credentials, rather than knowledge of them. That said, he's an excellent surgeon.

AMAZING AND COMPASSIONATE DOCTOR! Dr. Kutler is one of the most amazing doctor's I have ever seen. He is not only fantastic at what he does with amazing credentials and awards but he is compassionate, empathetic and so easy to talk to. I had gone into see him for something I needed removed and he gave me all my options and was extremely thorough with his explanations. He did not rush me and made me feel at ease immediately. He took the time to explain everything and even called me late one night to discuss further details. He has also gone out of his way to help me! I have yet to even have my surgery but felt the need to comment on my experience thus far. I'm sure the surgery will be fine and his follow up care will be as excellent as my care to date. I would recommend Dr. Kutler with flying colors!
