I found Dr. Payton to be an excellent Dr. He was kind, thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable. His staff was excellent as well.

I woke up one night covered in hives and suffered shortness of breath until I could no longer breathe at all and fainted. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. I was referred to Dr. Payton and he refused to test me for allergies. He said I had no allergies, to throw away my epi pen that I had a common cold which caused the hives and shortness of breath and it was all in my head. He refused to listen to anything I had to say. I got a referral to a different allergist and we figured out what likely caused the allergic reaction in 1 visit. I was severely allergic to multiple things. I would never recommend this doctor to anybody.

I suffered "Idiopathic Anaphylaxis" from 1978 through 1998. Unpredictable full-blown life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) at any time of day. Dr Payton cured me with a year long course of heavy antihistamines, then met with me to challenge those items I had identified as triggers: walnuts and bananas. He had me eat them in his presence in hospital... no reaction. I was cured. He was astoundingly reassuring and personable. Countless other Drs had not been able to help for 20 years. No incidents since. I'll be forever grateful. The most professional, knowledgeable and reassuring doctor I've ever met.

Dr Payton is a great doctor. A true people person. Very knowledgeable. Takes the TIME to discuss your issues and how to address them. We you leave a doctor feeling hopeful and empowered, that’s all that matters. I was just informed that Dr Payton is now retired. I felt it important to comment on what a wonderful person/doctor he is. Happy Retirement!!!

Just met him for the first time, fantastic doctor!

Took the time to explain my condition and had excellent bed-side manner. Even cracked a bunch of jokes! Would Highly Recommend him.
