He can be really moody. I've been his patient for over 20 years, and he's mostly ok, but he was in a mood today, dismissive, brushed me off, not even slightly helpful, and acted as though my scheduled follow up appointment was such a burden. He rushed me out the door, and really was not helpful in answering my questions about a new diagnosis. Disappointing.

I had a vaccination appointment at the nursing station and needed some medical forms filled out so the nurse mentioned to me that Dr. Bernard was still in his office so she went to ask him if he would see me. Once he came to the room he was so shocked and angry to see me. He actually said he would Not sign my paper work and that I can call front desk to make a phone call appointment. I pleaded with him to sign my forms as I needed my paperwork signed in order stay in my school program. He than aggressively snatched the paperwork out of her hands and told her to tell me to wait in the waiting room. The nurse was very shock at how his ton and demeanour was with me. Once he was done filling out my forms I met him at the from desk and that’s when he started raising his voice and pointing his finger at me saying how dare I demand to see him without an appointment and inconvenience him and his time. He continued to be aggressive and as he berated me in front of his receptionist to the point where I left in tears. Once I stood up for myself he told me to leave. I had the front desk empathize with me and say no man should speak to any woman like that. The Albany clinic policy is against abuse towards staff but what about abuse toward patience. This isn’t the first time he has treated me poorly but this is the first time I stood up for myself! Horrible treatment from a doctor! He never likes being asked any questions and once you have an opinion he belittles you. I hope other people who are under his Suppose of care are not being treated this way however based on other reviews I’m not the only one

I have been a patient of Dr. Bernard for over 20 year and he use to be a nice person. I have noticed an significant change in his attitude towards me and I’m not happy or comfortable with him being m doctor. I always feel condescended to by him and the last time I was in his office he made me so upset that I cried. He has No bedside manner whatsoever!! I seriously don’t why he is practicing ?? he obviously hates his job!! I often wander why he became a doctor in the first place when he consistently treats his patients poorly ??

I have been seeing Dr Bernard since he was a new MD and I absolutely love him. I find him to be not only a knowledgeable doctor, but also a witty and charming person. Every time I see him, we laugh throughout the appointment, while dealing with the reason for my visit. He is definitely the most punctual, but I have yet to meet a doctor who is. One of his staff is just as lovely. The other staff I could take or leave. I had been seeing another MD at the same clinic who was incompetent at best and I stumbled upon Dr B randomly as he was working the walk in on that particular day. I am so glad I did! He does not push meds, he gives his honest advice and thoughts and we discuss my course of action as needed. If I require meds, he will tell me. If there are other ways to manage whatever I am there for, he will tell me. I have always found him to be kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable and hilarious. To me, that's a winning combo. I hate those sterile doctors who have zero personality. You almost feel like you're bothering them by being there. Dr B has always made me feel welcome and looked after

Dr. Bernard's behaviour is often inappropriate and condescending. He has made a number of comments that made me feel highly uncomfortable. My sincere hope is that he gets to read this comment and take note that he would highly benefit from re-evaluation of the approach he takes with those in his care. If you are looking for a new GP I would highly recommend finding an alternative candidate.

Dr Bernard has a serious listening issue, he has poor bedside manner and is quite condescending and rude, he might consider this professionalism, but any normal person can tell when someone is being nasty. Dr. Bernard is only able to hear with his mouth, and not the 2 ears God gave him, save yourself the trouble, see someone else, there's a dozen other doctors at the same clinic, just see anyone but him, if you value your life, health, and want to be treated as a human and heard when you have an apointment.

I’m a patient of Doctor Bernard for the past 9 years. I find him to be very thorough, he’s a good listener and competent which makes e feel very confident with him, I feel relaxed when I see him and I highly recommend him!!

Dr. Bernard has been my G.P. for 20 or so years now and he has never failed to be helpful, instructive and so welcoming and genuine I actually look forward to my appointments (a rarity obviously) and his insight as an interesting interpersonal visit.
