Words cannot express today's 95% more positive health status since meetings followed by June-9-2022 throat/muscle surgery based on agreed upon approach to look after a rare form of final diagnosis of Killian Jamieson Diverticula (KJD) during Covid at a time when all medical personnel were also put at risk. I had my doubts the procedure would resolve the issue but have come to realize I had the BEST of the BEST human mechanic. Thank you for you and your wonderful team's dedication Dr. Gary Gelfand at Calgary's School of Medicine at the Foothills hospital! At the age of 56 you gave me a renewed confidence in living after spending 1-1/2 years choking. I had all but given up. I can only hope for you to be treated in the same manner should you ever face life's adversities should you ever experience similar discomfort I did prior to being in the care you provided at that time of need. Can’t say enough about this doctor! What an incredible human. He changed my life. He is thorough, answered all of my questions, and discussed all options with me. Dr. Gelfand is the perfect example of what a doctor should be and I couldn’t be more grateful to have ended up in his care.

Dr. Gelfand performed a Zenkir Diverticulum surgery on myself. I love how he draws pictures and explains the process clearly. As a teacher I give him an A+. My scaring after surgery is basically invisible. AMAZING surgeon!!

Gary Gelfand is an amazing man. My mother used to be his secretary from the 80s until she retired around 2015. Anyone would be so lucky to have him as their doctor. He's a wonderful human being.

Dr Gelfand and his entire team did an amazing job removing a huge tumor in my chest. He was very knowledgeable, kind, patient and willing to answer questions. His office assistant Diana is the absolute best. I also love the 7th year fellow who works under him, Dr Navi. I have nothing but amazing things to say about him.

Dr. Gelfand preformed my operation in a very timely manner after the decision was made, took the time to explain everything I needed to know about the procedure, and has an excellent bedside manner. His experience and expertise are unmatched.
