I was a patient of Dr. Samuel P. Kucey some time ago, and it was the first time I experienced mediocrity from someone purportedly an expert at a difficult practice. At the time, Dr. P. Kucey was an active oral surgeon from Argyle Associates. I was still young and suffering from Class 3 malocclusion. I began orthodontic treatment from the affiliated company Adam's Orthodontist. Together, these two doctors failed miserably to provide the proper treatment to correct this deformity. They argued in front of me about whether I should undergo bimaxillary osteotomy or only mandibular osteotomy. However, neither would describe why either procedure would be the best choice, summarizing the conclusion of their analyses with one word, necessary and unnecessary. I trusted them and followed the prescribed course of action to undergo mandibular osteotomy. After the surgery, I was immediately released from care, I healed and returned to their services three months after for further formal assessment to ensure the reconstructed mandible and other primary bones of the face were aligned and proved structural integrity, according to my anthropologic morphology (negroid). I was not granted my ask. Since then, I have been experiencing shifts in the alignment of my maxillofacial structure; the pain is excruciating. The severity of these physical changes is increasing. Recently, I have learned that in the case of class 3 malocclusion, a mandibular osteotomy will cause further maxillofacial issues in life. I sit here, writing my review in complete shame in the stead of the men who are responsible. Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed.

I had my 12 year molars extracted by Dr. Kucey when I was a kid. At our pre op appointment we decided I would be out under for the procedure for my comfort as the teeth were difficult to remove. Day of the actual procedure the dr told me he didn’t have time to put me under and they would use gas instead. I felt pressured into accepting this. I was not adequately sedated and felt nauseated and terrified the entire procedure. He was very rough in removing my teeth and had the nerve to complain that I wasn’t a better patient. Horrible experience I will never forget

Dr. Kucey was supportive of my need to remove my dental implant for metal allergies when other dental professionals were not. He listened, shared knowledge, and ultimately respected my decision. He did good work.

I had to wait an hour at an early morning appointment, but otherwise the staff here is fantastic. Pretty happy with service so far.

When you are going for dental implants, you should get the following:
- Antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and prescriptions mouthwash, to be started before the procedure;
- The procedure started on time, or as near as possible, to minimize your stress levels;
- Nurses in the post op room who do check on you occasionally;
- A follow-up phone call the day after, and possibly the Dr's cell phone number;
Dr. Kucey does NONE of the above! I had to go elsewhere to fully understand how much better it could be. No implant at all would really have been preferable.

My niece had her 4 wisdom teeth removed yesterday and the procedure was described to me as barabaric. Sedation and anesthetic were not adequate despite their best efforts yet they continued to pull all 4 teeth leaving her traumatized. Better judgement would have been to abort the procedure to ensure the patients comfort. This is an elective procedure and not emergent life or death. Shame on you for your lack of judgement in caring for your patient. Word of mouth Can either be your best or worst marketing tool. I would not recommend you for my family or refer my patients to you.

Horrible service and beside manner..... I had a consultation with him at the Kanata location, he was over 30 mins late!! I almost left and they talked me into staying, I guess they really wanted my $75 for the consultation fee.

He is arrogant, cocky, and barely made eye contact with me the entire visit - his back was facing me. Very bizarre.
I felt as though I was wasting his time, and that I was just a dollar sign. He was rushing quickly to discuss getting an implant and the details.

Would NEVER go back to Argyle Associates for any Oral surgery.....they are like car salesmen and only after the money.

Dr. Kucey did my reconstructive jaw surgery recent. He was always attentive, highly professional and answered all my pre and post-op questions. His skill level for this type of surgery is outstanding. I was operated on for four hours and treated appropriately for the next several days and weeks for recovery. Dr. Kucey phoned my family after the surgery to touch base and let us know how it went , then came to visit me the next day to see how I was doing. He then arranged for several follow up appnts to ensure a successful healing and recovery. Its been almost 7 weeks now and the outcome of the surgery has been a success. At one point, I had some pain and when we contacted him to consult, he took our call at the clinic , then provided his personal phone number in the event we had complications after hours. This doctor is professional, very knowledgeable and cuts through the chase. I would highly recommend him if you want the job done well and you want results!
