This dr could have left this profession being known as a kind, compassionate, caring soul. Instead he left a negative mark on many women over the years. It’s unfortunate that he chose a career of the miracles of birth to only end up being arrogant and belittling towards some women. Leaving a trail of insecurities and hurt for some. I know my experience was very traumatic which still haunts me to this day.

He should not be allowed to practice. Based on symptoms only and no additional testing. He pretty much told me to suck it up and no way would I be able to have a hysterectomy because I was 37. Second opinion fibroids endometriosis and a tumour the size of an orange. He is arrogant and lacked compassion for someone who was anemic and bleeding 26 days out of the month. I sincerely felt horrible for 2 years. Thank god I found a doctor who cared and listened.

I went to see Dr Viljoen after I had a miscarriage and was told I likely had a septate uterus based on the imaging at the hospital. He completed a test (can’t remember the name) and advised that I did not have a septate uterus. Fast forward a few years and I was having difficulty getting pregnant and staying pregnant. I moved east of Toronto and went to a fertility specialist who looked at the test Dr Viljoen did and stated it was the wrong test to diagnose a septate uterus. He ordered the correct test and I indeed had a septate uterus, which was causing my repeated miscarriages for years. Had Dr Viljoen completed the correct test, I could have had the surgery to correct the abnormality years earlier and wouldn’t have had to struggle so long to get pregnant. I wouldn’t recommend him.

My only experience with his was very traumatic. His bedside manner was greatly lacking and he was unprofessional in giving bad news. Needs to retire.

I have been with Dr.Viljoen for over 3 years now and have had a LEEP procedure with him and now have a c-section with him. I cannot say enough positive things about him! In 3 years I have only had one appointment rescheduled and was rebooked within the same week. He always takes the time to explain each appointment to me and when I ask follow up questions he takes the time to explain his answers until I understand. My family doctor does not have the level of bedside manner that Dr.Viljoen has and never makes me feel rushed like my family doctor does. Can’t say enough positive things about two scary experiences being turned into positive and knowledgeable experiences thanks to Dr.Viljoen!
