Dr Hardy works in a walk in clinic and believe me there is no resemblance to a private middle class Practice. There are many derogatory remarks about him on this site and I couldn't disagree with them more. A problem could be his straight forward, say it as it is, personality. I have been with many family members who had long drawn out illnesses eventuating in death. He is exactly the kind of personality I would want to deal with in circumstances like that. For 20 years I was a patient in a private practice in a upper middle class area. Eventually I smartened up and asked Dr. Hardy if I could get on his patient list as I wanted him as my G.P. In the previous practice it often took 3 to 7 days to get to see the Doctor and then wait at least an hour after getting there. Yet I have often walked in and seen him within 30 minutes. A good judge of a Doctor is how well his staff like him, even better how he treats his staff. Dr. Hardy is top's in both these departments.

My girlfriend, 7 yr old stepdaughter and I went to the clinic to get treatment for 2 plantar warts on her foot. The daughter is new here and isn't eligible for health coverage yet, so we paid $38.00 for the visit. No problem. However, his first advice was to use salicylic acid compound. That stuff is not reliable, and we didn't go to the clinic and wait 2 hrs for that advice! When the girl asked if it was going to hurt, he replied "it's going to hurt a LOT"... no attempt at all to calm the scared little girl. She started crying and panicking. He went to the other room and retrieved the ladle of liquid nitrogen, and on returning, then said "this will damage the skin around, maybe get infected and hurt for the next few days" right in front of her and "I will need $40.00 to do each one". When we decided and said "never mind, don't do anything then" he rudely whipped all the liquid out onto the floor right in front of the girl, as terrified as she was. He does not deserve to practice!

I visited this clinic for some blood work and this so called **** of a doctor tells me i am crazy for wanting some details in my blood work. I am currently a medical student who understands all of the tests that i had requested, instead Dr. Hardy refused to write me a requisition as he believed those tests were not necessary! He recommended tests that I had already received results for and refused to investigate further. I would NEVER go to see him again or recommend him to anyone I know. He is a horrible representative of a medical doctor and people like this should not have a license to practice. He had the nerve to also tell me I was misusing the health care system even though I am born and raised in Canada. I have every right to investigate my health and use the health care system we are provided with! He needs other means of expressing his frustrations rather than mistreating his patients!!

Hi , I read what had happened to you . I went in the clinic for a very swollen neck and had shortness of breath and chest pain and Dr Hardy told me I was allergic to something and that you WOMEN !!!! Always exagerate???? He told me I had an allergic reaction to something I ate and perscribed cream for my neck to bring down the swelling and to go buy Benedrly. When I got to the pharamacy they told me I was breathing heavy and I should go to the Hospital because I was so swollen and shorth of breath . When I went to the hospital I had very low levels of oxygen and apparently had an anaphaltic attack . I was sent for a CT SCAN and discovered I had a blood clot in my lung and lungs full of fluid which they had to painfully drain from my lungs . I spent eight days in hospital and am still on blood thinners months later . If I did not go to the hospital I would have died from cardiac arrest that evening having full lungs and a blood clot. ASAP!!!!! something has to be done about the treatment from DR.Hardy

Surprisingly Dr. Hardy is one of the better doctors you can see at The Doctor's Office in Beddington. He does not have a language barrier like some of the others. However, Dr. Hardy is always hurried and does make you feel small. He correctly diagnosed my vertigo this past year and in previous years I saw him for two severe colds. His advice in both cases was to "give it a few more days" even though both colds had lasted over two weeks and I was in great sinus pain.

I came in for a pregnancy test. This is clearly an unplanned pregnancy, and he had the nerve to tell me, "the solution to this problem is to be smart and use protection." Too late for that, protection clearly doesn't work 100% of the time. He was completely rude, talked down to me and offered me no solution to my problem. Needless to say I left more scared, and in tears. Awful doctor, I'll leave if I see his name on the walk-in board.

Went into see him at the Brentwood clinic with severe gastric pain (that was on going for a week)and constipation (two weeks without passing a stool), was unable to eat because of both problems, he said that everyone has gas and constipation from time to time and it is nothing to worry about. I had never had this problem before (with this kind of gastric pain or constipation), wasnt going to go back to another doctor but my daughter insisted and a week later I went back to the same clinic and saw another doctor who said the gastric pain and constipation was not normal sent me to have urgent blood drawn, 2 hours later I recieved a call informing me that an ambulance was on its way to take me to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre as I had Acute Mylogenous Leukemia. The hematologist at the TMCC said if I had waited another day I would be dead as I had basically no blood, I was given 4 whole blood, 4 platelets and 4 plasma transfusions that night.

Spectacularly unhelpful. Made me feel like an imposition. I went in with a small piece of glass in my left heel. Couldn't/wouldn't do anything to help. Started with "...raise your foot higher, I'm not hurting MY back for someone else's FOOT..." Summed up the visit in less than 3 minutes with "...go to a drugstore and get some of those Dr. Scholl doughnut bandages to relieve the pressure. The glass is going to be invisible on X-Ray anyway so I won't be able to see it, and I'm not going to dig around your heel trying to find it. Your body will build scar tissue around the glass shard, and it'll just become part of your foot..." Nice! Honestly felt like he was mad at drawing the short straw and working Sunday. Rude, condescending. Should leave the profession if he doesn't feel like doing his job.

I totally agree this guy is a jerk! I had been to him many times for a wcb claim on an apparent pinched nerve in my elbow. I explained that my hand was going numb on my pinky and ring finger, also I was having strange pressure headaches which were causing facial numbness. I'm not sure if anyone has had there face go numb but this is a very scary thing. He also asked me "what I would you like me to do about it? " I had to continually go back to see him once every 2 weeks till my claim was over. When it was all said and done my hand numbness has gone away, thanks to nose creek physiotherapy. Though the headaches are still there. On my last follow up to this prick, I was crying and told him that these headaches that i have all day everyday for 3 months were scaring me and i need to do something or be refered to someone he told me that I should go and see a shrink! THE NERVE OF THAT OLD WASHED UP DOCTOR! The next day I had my file transfered out of that clinic...
