Getting through on the phone to the office can be really frustrating. The line is constantly busy. By 1:30pm you get a message telling you the secretary has gone for the day. And when you do get staff on the phone, they are generally rushed and rude. Dr. Chernin though, is great.

Dr. Chernin has been my doctor for about 20 years, and I consider myself to be very lucky indeed to be her patient. Every plaudit that has been said before - punctuality, caring, remembering without notes, no pill pushing, management of suddenly urgent problems - all comments I echo wholeheartedly. I believe she was a psychiatric nurse before she became an M.D. and I think that gives her an extra dimension, a unique take on things. She is not a "paint by numbers" doctor, she really delves into family medical history when assessing symptoms. It's icing on the cake that we are both female and contemporaneous, so she makes gynae exams as painless as possible. And she has a sense of humour - she's human too, and a great human being at that. Her office staff is also terrific.

Although it's a fast paced office, I find Trudy's interactions (short or long) to be focussed and engaged. There are times when you can see the day is more stressful and she looks a bit harried but that should be expected in this crazy city. It's amazing she has kept her interest and kindness over the many hectic years she's been in this profession. She has been my Dr. for over 10 years and I trust her care and concern.

Dr. Chernin has been our family doctor for over 20 years. She has been absolutely wonderful to us, especially when my wife had an emergency stay in the ICU after cancer surgery. She has an honest and real concern for our well being.

Dr. Chernin has been my doctor for 18 year and has been wonderful. I just had an appointment with her and asked her if she was retiring and she informed me that she is definitely not retiring. Thought I should clarify this as I was quite dismayed (as was Dr. Chernin) at reading the comment from the person who inputted on Jan 4 saying "too bad she is retiring soon".

Dr. Chernin was my family doctor for several years before I moved to Newfoundland. She was the first doctor I had that valued my opinion and that took time to listen to me. Her philosophy that health care involved a partership between doctor and patient was refreshing. Dr. Chernin, if you are reading this, you spoiled me. It took me a long time to find someone similar where I live now.

Dr. Chernin is a medical practicioner extraordinaire. She is punctual, knowledagble and caring, all at once. She listens well, makes valuable suggestions and refers promptly and appropriately. She answers questions thoroughly so one goes away with greater understanding of ones medical condition and possible remedies. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Chernin. In addition, Fern, her secretary, is extremely competent, with a sense of humour and caring demeanour. These two deserve a medal.
