Dr. Hamilton is a brilliant doctor. She is blunt and too the point (which we loved) - and she answered every question we had, through all of our steps through infertility/IVF at AART/pregnancy. Without her, we would not have our 18-month old twins. She is caring, accommodating, kind, supportive and beyond knowledgeable. She took care of me from day 1, meeting her at AART... through the entire IVF steps (multiple times)... and then we went to her once I was pregnant with twins. She visited us everyday while we were in the hospital, after the twins were born. She calmed my nerves numerous times throughout my pregnancy and we have nothing but loving words to describe her. We highly recommend her!! Can not say enough kind words about her.

My dealings withDr Hamilton so far at AART have been very good. I was very nervous after reading and hearing others stories. I have to say she was excellent, compassionate and caring. I did have a miscarriage and she was nothing but kind to me. I did prefer her to Dr Bouzayen who I found to be rushed and treated us as just another infertilecouple. Dr H will tell you like it is which I appreciate

I was extremely nervous to meet with this Dr after reading the reviews. The best way to describe her approach is factual and matter of fact. Yes, it stung a bit when she told me I was above the BMI index to be able to do IVF and yes she probably reminded me several times about obesity impacting my overall health (which obviously I know and explained to her I was on a weight loss program) and I left feeling a bit like a huge infertile cow however I would rather a doctor be upfront with me about why I am having issues concieving than sugar coat things for me. So my only advice would be to put on your big girl/big boy pants (no pun intended) and be prepared to get real, factual medical advice from this Dr and do not expect to leave with a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I have been with Dr Hamilton for a few years. I like her. She is quirky, but very knowledgable. She is direct but compassionate. Would recommend her to anyone.

I 1st saw Dr Hamilton when we pursued Fertility treatment through AART. I found her to be knowledgeable and took her time to explain herself and make sure we understood. She saw us through one round of IUI(medicated) and one round of IVF which resulted in a twin pregnancy(she did our embryo transfer, there was talk about the risks of transferring more than one embryo, but I felt she respected the decision we made made). Complications left me on bedrest at the IWK for 9 weeks. She was great while I was there and I actually credit her with saving my boys lives, she had the strictest rules for her patients on bedrest(no outings until 28 weeks, when the lungs are developed, which is the number # 1 complications for preemies), which I appreciated. I managed to get from 24 weeks to 33 weeks(Drs assumed I would deliver within days). She often came to visit me 4-5 times per week while I was on bedrest, and sometimes stayed for 45 mins to chat. I realize she likely got paid for these visits but I feel she went above and beyond. She also went to visit my boys while they were in the NICU. I would recommend her and would use her again if I got pregnant.

I dreaded having to go for my appointments with Dr. Hamilton because it seemed like every time I went to see her she was more interested in making sure I knew about her complaints ( ie; fell on the ice and had a concussion, marital issues, court issues, working long hours) than she was about my worries about the pregnancy. Totally inappropriate. My husband actually stopped coming into the exam room with me because of the way he looked at him every time she saw him. He said he felt like she had something against men in general and felt like she stared dangers threw him.
I asked not to see her anymore.

Unfortunately we have had some negative experiences with Dr. Hamilton. Yes she is very knowledgable in the field of fertility however offers very conservative options at the clinic that exclude services for frozen egg donation and donor embryos. She did not assist me with finding out how to access these services and I didn't even know other clinics out there provided these services. So essentially, I had to do my own research about other programs . We have had consults with two other fertility clinics, one within Canada and the other in the states and have learned significant amts of information from consulting other physicians in the fertility field. During visits with Dr. Hamilton, she is all about getting down to business. Bedside manners are not her forte and there is little in the way of counseling provided. Though she is very thorough about the law when she speaks to her clients using donor eggs, her tone is inappropriate and appears to have scared away my donor who made the trip to Halifax to assist my husband and I with expanding our family. Dealing with fertility has been a long road over the past 10 years, however I would strongly suggest any new couples coming to the clinic to consult with Dr. Bouzayen who is very compassionate, caring and knowledgable in the area of fertility.

Dr. hamilton is an excellent Dr. She saw us from infertility through to a healthy, beautiful baby girl. Yes, she is no nonsense, no point sugar coating reality. she always listened to me and even called me personally a few times with info. I felt extremely well cared for during my pregnancy. I am pregnant again and already wishing I had her back (not fertility this time) as she was really on top of things. Thank you Dr. hamilton!

At least a half hour late for every appointment then rushes you out the door. I'm sure she's knowledgable, but don't expect any discussion of options or explanations from her. We'll be switching to a doctor who will actually take the time to inform you.
