I went to this Dr. for many years until I was finally able to change doctors--which I was extremely happy about!! I always felt like I was "a Number", and that I had to get out what I could in the 25 seconds that I was given, before she got up and left the examining room. I am extemely THANKFUL that I was able to change doctors a few years ago, and that she is NOT the doctor who cares for my son, who has medical concerns. It really is important to feel like you are being listened to, especially when there are areas of concern.

I believe Dr Metcalfe's real specialty is pregnancy, I have been in her care since I was 13 and I am now 32. She has always been professional but she really shinned as a doctor when I got pregnant with my first child. She was informative and took the time to explain things to me and to make me feel safe an secure, and she does the same for my son everytime we are in. However I have heard other people complain abou the level of care they get from her, and most of them are men. Hence the reason I believe her true love is care of children and pregnant women. I would also like to add that anytime she has transfered my care to a specialist, they have been professional and were simply the best in the field no matter how they personally felt about her. Dr Shelley Metcalfe is one of the few good doctors out there, and her support staff are GREAT too.

Dr. Metcalfe has been my doctor since I was 7 years old, I am now 22. I feel very comfortable with her and the staff. She is understanding and accomadating to my needs as a patient.

I have been a patient since she came into practice. She is the BEST! I wish all other Doctors where like her. Whenever I needed her she has been there. She is informative and understands my needs. I have found she and her staff will go exrtra miles for you. I have been dealing with the same staff and they are great to deal with. I would take her advise over any other Doctor. I have always left the office with my needs met. And knowing I have been in the right hands.

Dr. Metcaffe will only listen to 1 problem at each appt. so I have to decide which ailment is the most important to discuss. As soon as she gives me the answer she stands up to leave even tho I have more to say. Sometimes she holds her hand up to stop me talking.I really like the staff,they are very kind & understanding about the wait times.I just wish that I didn't have to make so many appt. to get out all that I have to say.

my teen daughter likes her. But I find her way! "overbooked" Not fun when others in the waiting room have the same appointment time as you do! knowlegable enough it seems but too rushed. Some of the staff are a bit snooty.

Doesn't want to listen to what you have to say. I have brought up the same issues to her a number of times and have still not been referred to a specialist or have anything done. Being in pain everyday is not fun. Some staff members wouldn't give you the time of day on more than one occasion. I would change doctors in a heart beat if there were any available.

Dr. Metcalfe took myself, and eventually my mother, brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and roommate all on as new patients when we were all just about at our wit's end trying to find a family physician and it seemed NO ONE was taking new patients. I will always be grateful to her for that, plus I think she's very personable and friendly.

We have been patients of Dr. Metcalfe for over 10 years and we think she is great! We've had no major problems with getting appointments - typically within a few days. In regards to punctuality, there is often a slight delay on getting in but less than average for this region. We do Not find her quick to write prescritions - very reasonable. When the children were infants we were always seen the same day for issues of serious concern. Once when she recieved some concerning results from a specialist's report, her office called me and had me come in the same day to discuss it. ...and the children are always given stickers after their needles :)

Dr. Metcalfe has been our family physician since 1993. During that time she has provided a high level of exceptional care to us and supported us through many life altering illnesses/conditions. I've very seldom had to wait more than a day for an appointment, and very seldom had to wait too long while there. If I did, I didn't mind because I knew she was giving someone else her exceptional care. We're lucky to have her.
